Hungry Hog @ Subang SS15

Was told by friends about this place, been dying to check out the place and come the mourning day after Hennessy Artistry (cause I lost my dearest dSLR at HA), I decide to rush back from Melaka after a day at MIMC for the Time Attack to join some blogging friends for dinner. It’s been awhile since I last joined them for some food and lepak session and just thought this is better than any time to join them, after all, they are going to a restaurant that sells PORK! How could I pass up that chance, right? I must say that SS15 is becoming a pork heaven for anyone who is into pork like I do. One of the better pork noodle restaurant is there, there’s a nice bak kut teh restaurant nearby too and now Hungry Hog as well. With my Gym (yes, I might be shapely (round is a shape!), I do go to the gym) so nearby, definitely a great place to drop by after an intense workout. Right?

Upon reaching, most of them were already there. Could say we were the largest and noisiest bunch that night. Got ourselves seated and proceed to place our respective orders. Can’t remember who ordered what though as I was too engrossed in staring down at the menu, all those pork dishes staring bad at me, spoilt for choices! Eventually after a hot cup of Honey Lemon, I’ve came to a conclusion on what I wanted! (The Heaven rejoices and the Angels sang!)

Started off with an appetizer for myself, a nice small plate of Bacon strips. I was actually going for the Siew Yuk but sadly, they ran out of it by the time I got there! Curse the traffic congestion between Seremban and Nilai! I could have had my Siew Yuk! But the Bacon Strips was just as good, slightly oily though but still good. What pork dishes isn’t good right? RIGHT?

The main course arrives on a Chariot of fire! OK, not really but heck, watching the plate of Pork Ribs come gliding from the Kitchen Pass to where I was seated was like watching the Miss Universe walked up and flirt with me.  Sadly though, the Char Siew Spare Ribs was a tad too dry and could use a bit more char siew sauce on it and there’s just way too much salad on the plate that is served to a carnivore like me. Also, they need to make sure the greens isn’t too wet when served as there’s practically a pool of water on the plate after I threw away the salad. But I still wolfed down the whole plate and only gave a small chunk of meat to Nicole to try .

Nicole ordered the 3 Little Pigs, the burger consist of Pork Patty (yums), Bacon strips (double yum) and ham with cheese and caramelized onions. Looks good, smells good too. Personally, looking at the plate as it was served to her, I would have ordered that with double 2 pound pork patty, more bacons, glazed hams and no cheese (cheese spoils the taste of the juicy pork) with a bowl of Jack Daniel sauce to dip. I’ve made it before, taste fantastic (personally cause I love my own cooking). Maybe if they stumbled upon this little space of mine (HELLO! HUNGRY HOGS! *WAVES like a Lunatic), and decide to make one like that, do let me know (maybe you can even name it the Mike Yip Special? BWAHAHAHAHAHA)

And lastly, for dessert, I had the Vanilla bean Gelato with candied bacon bits, drizzled with honey. Just the sound of that name just makes you drool right? RIGHT? By the way, did you know, Vanilla comes from the Latin word “Vagina”. See, I try to put in some educational pointers in my post so you learn something new each time you drop by and read.

Definitely will drop by the place again as there’s just so many other dishes to try and if they do read what I wrote above and decide to create the “Mike Yip Special” for me. I’ll definitely drop by often and eat.
