Week 2 @ Body Express

Posted By Michael Yip / March, 19, 2012 / 2 comments

The start of the 2nd week of my 10 week transformation at Body Express started with fantastic news as I was told based on the digital reader that I lost 2kg from the original measurements I did prior week 1. For those of you wanting to know what I do regularly at the gym, you can follow my daily report on twitter at twitter.com/zique and the Hashtag #LeonardoAzevedo as Leonardo is the person who’s whipping me into shape.

I actually had to do a double take and read the reading again as I didn’t believe myself. OK, I had hoped that I would have lost more than 2kg within the 1st week but quite a lot of people told me that 2kg is quite a big deal already especially because I haven’t really worked out for much prior to this and to put myself through the 1st week and came out with 2kg lighter. That’s quite an improvement. (more…)

Late night drink… The healthier alternative? :p

Hennessy Artistry 2011 – Are You Ready?

Posted By Michael Yip / April, 18, 2011 / 0 comments

Party people rejoice! With the Black Circuit Lounge over, you must be thinking what else is there to do? Well, have no fear for Hennessy Artistry is here! The 2011 edition is starting soon and the first one is gonna be at Voodoo @ Upper Penang Road on the 28th of April and at Opera @ Sunway Pyramid on the 30th April. Wonder if I’d get the chance to go for both but then that’s just asking too much right?

Do you remember the last big one that was held at MINE’s Convention Centre? Did you enjoy yourself in that one? I wonder if this year’s going to be an explosive one to top all those that happened in 2010. A little bottle of Hennessy whispered to me over the weekend and said that this year’s going to be much more fun, with a brand new logo, a new Facebook page and a new interactive Hennessy Mixing Zone, it’s going to be fun fun fun! OK Fine, I admit it, more Drink Drink Drink! (more…)

MANifesto.my – Social Media Campaign for Women:100

Posted By Michael Yip / February, 24, 2011 / 0 comments

On the 23rd of Feb, Tandemic along with Kakiseni launched MANifesto.my along with the various social media platform like facebook, twitter and blogs to create a network of supportive individuals and organizations in celebrating women and uniting their voices through performing arts.

At the launch in Actor’s Studio, the organizers encourage everyone to sign on the MANifesto both online and on the board to pledge their support in making this campaign a success in conjunction with the 100 years of International Women’s Day.

Along with the celebration, Women:100 have a wider goal of empowering women to create, dream and operate beyond the bounds of the status quo.The International Women’s Day on the 8th of March is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. Formally launched in 1911, it has since grown to become a global day of recognition and celebration across developed and developing countries alike.

The MANifesto comes into play as a set of seven commitments for men towards making Malaysia a better place for women. Each commitment is paired with a fun and interesting challenge relating to women’s issues. Designed to engender interest in and healthy debate of women’s issues, the MANifesto addresses points ranging from encouraging women to have more confidence and appreciation of themselves, voice their views to taking a stand against violence against women.

Along with the launch, there was also a stage performance: Life Sdn Bhd 6: Abuse where various individuals share some of their true live stories. Voiced by those who know best because they are closest to it. Life Sdn Bhd 6: Abuse is a thought-provoking and moving installment brought to you by Faridah. It will also feature a specially-commissioned song by singer-songwriter Ian Chow entitled Lullaby.

To find out more about the activities that is lined up for the Women:100 that is stretched across a week, check out MANifesto.my and join in to make this awareness campaign a success!

R.I.P Compaqticon

My ever faithful notebook, the Compaqticon (i know, weird name to give a notebook) has finally departed.

It’s death is a tragic one. Conspiracy theorists (on MSN, Twitter and Facebook) has been running wild over how it died. Hopefully it’s brain where all the data is stored is still in one piece (i’ve yet to figure out how to extract them as windows XP and Mac won’t read NTFS format drive), if you have any suggestions, I will be very grateful.

Until the time comes for the data to be retrieved. I won’t be able to post up the photos (portraits, landscapes, products) to update my blog that I have lined-up but yet to upload.
