Setting Sun over Mekong River
The 1st set documenting my holiday in Vientiane, Laos. I am not touching on the places I’ve visited for now but share with you some of the beautiful sun sets I’ve seen along the Mekong River on the 4 nights I was there traveling.

At certain parts of the river, the Mekong was so dried up that we can practically walk on the river bed and that is exactly what I did. The locals have made some small path that allowed them to go down to the riverbed to play and that’s exactly what I did as well after finding such a path. Getting the sunset from a high ground was nice but being in the middle of the river and getting closer to the beauty of it was just breath taking. (more…)
Creating Art through photography?
These sunset shots by the beach was shot along the same time as the lalang shots but instead of just posting up the photos as what I normally do, this time around, I tried to play around with photoshop, to see what kind of effect I can turn up with all those filters, plug-ins and actions. Here’s what I’ve gotten at.
Playing in the Lalang field
I know over the past couple of months, you’ve been seeing a lot of sun set photos from me. Well, I can’t really help it as that’s one of the most beautiful and magical hours to me.

The play of light at that hour is just magnificant, God’s wonders never cease to amaze me. How the heaven turn the day to night and the colors that appears in between that switch. It’s incredible don’t you think so? (more…)
Setting Sun Over Port Dickson
Another landscape series from me, this was shot at Port Dickson near the Yacht Club against a hazy backdrop. As you know, lately the west coast of Malaysia has been enveloped by a layer of haze, it’s nothing new of course since Indonesia, our oh so friendly neighbor like to burn things in the open and fan it our way.

How come none of our enforcement officers are issuing them with any summons when they are so diligently issuing summons for even the most minute of offenses? Isn’t open burning an offense? (more…)
Marina Bay in the Evening
One of the places I checked out when I’m in Singapore was the Marina Bay area. The very ground where the Singapore GP is held since last year (2008). It’s quite a beautiful area really, looking out at the bay area in the setting sun as all the buildings start to light up. Sadly the sky wasn’t really that clear when I was there but I tried what I can do capture the best image I could with my trusty camera.
Here we can see the high rise buildings along with the famous ‘durian’, the esplanade.

Mosque @ Dusk
After taking photos of the Sikh Temple a couple of weeks back, I decided that it would be a nice thing to do to capture images of other places of worship as well. How they look early in the morning when the sun is rising or in the evening when the sun is setting. Depending of course on which direction the sun comes up or down against the building itself.

So here’s one of the Kota Damansara mosque taken in the evening just before muslims enter the place for their Maghrib prayers. The first shot was a HDR of 9 images which in my opinion isn’t very good, am still learning to use photomatix to bring out the best of the image. Definitely will try again and update this post if I manage to come up with a better image. (more…)
Sunset by the Sikh Temple
With pollution these days, not many places we could see a setting sun bask the evening sky with a beautiful blue glow. The best time i feel if you want to see such beauty is the evening after a day of heavy shower. The air is cleaner thus giving you that clear sky to capture what you want.
Here’s some taken near a Sikh Temple.

Virgin Dawn Experience
The last couple of days, I’ve been posting up a lot of first, from Sunset to landscapes to HDRs to Moon. Today, here’s a sun rise photography first for me. Waking up early in the morning just to go catch the morning sun rising over the horizon. It’s not the easiest of thing do, try dragging yourself out of the bed at 5 in the morning and start getting ready to head out to the location. It ain’t easy!
