Dubrovnik Restaurant @ Solaris Mont Kiara

Dubrovnik, the beautiful port city of Croatia. Too bad, I didn’t get a chance to go there. Instead, it was a restaurant located in Solaris Mont Kiara. A family restaurant ran by a father (Zoran Djumic) and daughter (Dina Djumic) team with a cozy deco that gives you the feeling like you’ve traveled over to the Port City (just imagine the sea beating against the side of the cliff with a nice beautiful sea breeze blowing into your face). OK fine, that’s a bit far fetch but you get what I meant.

The exterior of the restaurant might get you thinking that it’s one of those restaurants that will burn a hole in your wallet but in actual fact, that’s not the case as I found out browsing through the menu. It was such an honor to be invited to the restaurant a month back along with several other friends to not only get to know more about the restaurant and the food it serves but also the chance to know more about Dubrovnik. Toast & Roast

It was one of those days when I read a conversation between Andrew and Marky that intrigues me, not because it’s about some naughty subjects but because it’s about pork, to be specific, barbeque pork which they claimed to be one of the best in town.

The restaurant they told me about is the Toast and Roast Restaurant, passerby might just think of this restaurant based on it’s name as some kind of cafe serving toasts and such but I can assure you it is not. It’s a true blue pork selling restaurant that is patronized by a lot of people, especially those working around the area namely Tropicana City Mall and the office blocks just next to it. (more…)

Restoran Super Kitchen Chilly Pan Mee @ Kota Damansara

Even though the Super Kitchen Restaurant has been around for some time near my home in Kota Damansara, I’ve always been traveling down to their outlet in the Chow Keat area and that’s when I decided that why waste petrol traveling all the way down there when there’s just one around the corner from where I stay?

And so, it’s the Super Kitchen Restaurant near my home I went, along with some friends to have a go. Like all the Chilly Pan Mee outlets (including Kin Kin), the place starts to get packed by 12pm and so we decided to have an early lunch, and by the time we got there, it was already packed! It was pure madness! (more…)

Blind man : Good sense of smell

A blind man walks into a restaurant and sits down. The waiter, who is also the owner, hands him a menu. “I’m sorry, Sir, but I am blind and can’t read the menu. Just bring me a dirty fork from a previous customer, I’ll smell it and order from there.”

A little curious, the owner walks over to a dirty pile and picks up a greasy fork. He returns to the blind man’s table and hands it to him.

The blind man puts the fork to his nose and takes in a deep breath. “Ah, yes, that’s what I’ll have, meatloaf and mashed potatoes.”

“Unbelievable!” In the kitchen, the owner exclaims to his wife Theresa, who is also the cook, and tells her what has just happened.

A few days later the blind man returns, and the owner brings him a menu. “Sir, remember me? I’m the blind man.”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t recognize you. I’ll go get you a dirty fork.” The owner again retrieves a dirty fork and brings it to the blind man. (more…)
