Honda Insight Test Drive
Middle of last week, I received an email asking me if I’d like to take a Honda Hybrid car for a test drive with a group of bloggers to Malacca, and deep within me, I felt something skipped a beat thinking that I get to test drive the CR-Z that was launched in 2011… but lo and behold, that’s not it but the 2010 Honda Insight that made it’s first appearance during the KLIM’2010. I figured, heck, why not? right?
The above video is the highlights of the test drive that the bunch of us was invited to, just 3 blokes sharing their opinion about the car (sorry, no pretty ladies in the video). We started off by meeting up with the Honda team at The Bee in Jaya One where the Management of Honda gave us a short briefing on what to expect and what we will experience over the next two days. After that, we formed a team of 3 and get bundled into 5 Insights that was eagerly waiting for us. The people riding with me for the trip was Isaac and Ken and so, away we go! Just a warning, this is a long long post! (more…)
Kota Darul Ehsan Gateway Arch
As a Petaling Jaya boy, this is the 1 landmark that I’ve always seen whenever my dad drive us to town via the Federal Highway, this is the Kota Darul Ehsan Gateway Arch, to some of us, we know it as the Golden Arches ala McDonald’s and even until today, it’s the best landmark for any of us from PJ to use to guide non-PJ people into PJ. I do hope that this landmark will still be around even for my great grandchildren to see.

This landmarks is the main landmark of the Federal Highway, the biggest arch in Malaysia located in Petaling Jaya. It was built on the orders of the former Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah to commemorate the cession of Kuala Lumpur to the federal government on 1 February 1974. Created 2 years before I was born and even until today, it still stand strong between the KWSP building and the University Hospital (UMMC).
Good Bye 2010 and Hello 2011
As the last day of 2010 come before us, I look back at 2010 and it’s challenges that I’ve gone through and at some juncture, overcome. In a way, 2010 has been a year of change for me. From moving back to KL from Singapore, to having my kids back with me. I must thank God that my parents and sisters has been the best in helping me care for the two monsters when I’m out on assignments.
One thing I can tell you for sure, it ain’t easy being a single dad but I was lucky that I can turn to my family for guidance and assistance whenever I stumbled upon some obstacles in caring for the monsters and providing for them. From having a secured 9-5 (who am I kidding, I worked in a TV station, there’s no such thing as 9 to 5) job that pays me on a monthly basis to coming back to KL and venturing out on my own where if I don’t work my butt off means I won’t get paid. It sure is a big change but in a way, despite the slow start, I am happy as I get to spend more time with the monsters at the same time doing what I love to do as a career. (more…)
The Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple
Made a trip to the Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple on early Sunday morning with cwken as I wanted to increase more photos for my collection of places of worship series. Here are some of the photos I took, spend some time experimenting around with the photos on Photoshop and these are the results.
Roast Duck @ Loong Foong Seafood Restaurant

After eating at Sunrise Duck at Seapark for a number of time now, I decide to bring Stephenie to another famous restaurant where people just lined up in droves to buy Roast Ducks. That place was known as Loong Foong Seafood restaurant located just about 15minutes walk from Sunrise. The place operates only at night but you can see people lining up to buy ducks there from as early as 5ish. I used to be one of them who would go there to buy on the way home from work.

Got ourselves a nice place to sit and proceed to order half a duck with a simple plate of vege. It took them about 5min before serving us our food which is quite ok looking at the amount of people waiting in line for their take-away. (more…)
