Penang Food Promotion @ Legend Hotel

Legend Hotel just launched their Penang Food & Cultural Promotion until the 8th of June. I was there on invitation to witness the launch of the promotion attended by the Chief Minister of Penang as well as various other members of Parliament.

After usual speeches by the Hotel Manager, Mr. Vincent Pillai and the CM of Penang and the launch of the promotion, the CM was taken on a tour of the buffet line checking out all the food that was spread across the restaurant. As for me, I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on the food that was there.

The first area I attacked was non other than the Nasi Kandar stall that the CM just visited, simple reason is when I was doing my round taking photos of the food, the one area that attracted me was that said stall. Each of the dishes there was perfect, especially the fried chicken (which incidentally was the first to go that night).

The other must try was the Roast Lamb that look oh so wonderful, smell and taste wonderful too. The meat was roasted to the right texture.

The other must try is the raw salmon, very fresh and no fishy smell. Even had a few helpings myself before they stopped refilling the station after the 5th time.

To top off the wonderful night, there’s the variety of kuih melayu which would just give you that perfect send-off into food heaven. There are loads of other dishes there that is worth to try but of course, what I mentioned was the favorite of mine that night. What was the other food served there? Look at the photo album and find out for yourself. :D

Restaurant End of the World

After the completion of the Press Conference and some meetings with suppliers in Penang Island, the organizers decide to head out to Teluk Bahang on the Monday to grab some dinner before heading back to KL. So off we went, on a 20min ride from Tanjung Bungah to Teluk Bahang and finally stopping at this restaurant called Restaurant End of The World.

Not sure if it’s the end of the world we were at but definitely, the end of the road that we want to continue on for the driver would have been skinned alive if he doesn’t stop for food soon.

As we were there to just fill our stomach before heading back to KL, these was what we ate.

Seafood Fried Rice - Simple fried rice, abit salty to my taste though.

Braised Tofu with Seafood - Nicely prepared, what I like most of this dish is the sauce.

Oyster Omelet - I’m no oyster eating person, so I only dig around for the eggs which wasn’t completely cook, or was that the oysters I ate?

Grilled Red Snapper - One of the crowd favorite on our table, snapped up within minutes upon landing on the table. Perfectly grilled.

Wanted to order their Cheesed Tiger Prawns but the price they quoted us was madness (I suspect they have 2 separate menus for the locals and tourists seeing that there’s only 1 chinese and 2 Venezuelans and an indian lady on the table. LOL)
