The Super Moon after 19 years

The Super Moon that got everyone talking was a mere 356,577 kilometres away, the closest it’ll ever get to earth for 19 years. On average, the moon is about 378 195 km away. At its furthest it is nearly 400 000 km away. During a lunar perigee and full moon, however, the lunar surface can appear up to 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter than any other full moon. The following shot was taken at 9.30pm (19th March).

And this shot was taken at 1.30am (20th March). Was told that I could get the best shot at 3am but I’m not sure if I can stay awake til then, if I do, I’ll post the next update. (more…)

Weird Colored Moon

Was sitting out in the garden one night unable to sleep and spotted this moon with a weird color. Guess it could be due to reflection from lights nearer me or clouds or something.

Well, yeah, just a boring post about a moon that everyone can see by walking out of their house and staring up in the sky.

I was on the way to Kepong to check out some stalls on the night of the 7th of August when I drove up to Bukit Menjalara and lo and behold, I got Mooned!

It was a magnificent sight but since I only have my camera back home, I need to go back and get it. By the time I got home, the haze/cloud start to move in to envelope the moon and I only manage to get these shots. (more…)

Kota Damansara Community Forest

It was a nice day and I decide to go out for a walk near home, even though there’s haze in the Klang Valley and it’s practically boiling throughout the day. It’s always a nice idea to go out for a walk, sweat a bit to allow the body some form of exercise. Right?

One of the place I like to walk towards is the Kota Damansara Community Forest, a beautiful spot near the edge of Kota Damansara, the place provides a refreshing view from our daily concrete jungle. Even though the place is beautiful, one thing that’s sad to see is the rubbish around the edge of the lake. We can only go down and pick up those that’s nearest to us but those that’s in a distance, it’s a tad hard. (more…)
