Formula 1 2010 Season is just days away!

F1 fans rejoice! The Formula 1 2010 season is just days away with the first race at Bahrain. Even before the start of the season, there has been a lot of controversial news happening in the paddock as the teams gets ready to race around in circles to the cheers of their multitude of fans.

Malaysia is sending in it’s very own F1 car in the form of Team 1Malaysia or better known across the F1 world as Lotus F1 Racing Team. It’s going to be an exciting time to see how the ‘Malaysian’ team will fare against all the other teams on the grid. Especially it’s friendly rivalry with Virgin Racing as both the bosses are owners of Air Asia and Virgin Airline respectively. The funny thing about Malaysia’s racing team is that Petronas snubs Malaysia’s own team to partner with Mercedes. It does show how confident Petronas is towards our own Team 1Malaysia. (more…)

Portraits: Ai Li @ Barren Field

The following photos was done quite near to home back in Kota Damansara, a hidden gem of a place you can say. To me, there’s a lot of potential for shoots done here and I definitely want to keep it to myself.

Not trying to be stingy with locations and all but sometimes, when you share a place, so many people venture to it that the place tend to be destroyed. In the end, the one on the losing end is the venue itself as it’s beauty that first captivated our attention have become spoilt. (more…)

My Journey In Photography

Something just sparked in me while reading some fellow photographers’ blog about their progress in the world of photography. I found myself asking the question How far have I gone with what I’ve done?  It might not be the wisest or smartest question out there but truly, eventually, this question needs to be answered. Right?

My interest in photography was sparked by my dad when he used to bring out his SLR to everywhere we go and capturing every images we could to print as memories of our journey as a family. I started picking up from there, eventually owning my own Nikon FM10 in college as part of my studies. Taking photos of this and that, not only as part of my assignments but also for fun. Eventually, I ‘graduated’ to the world of film as in moving images and found myself working in a production house producing TV programs for TV stations. (more…)

The location was this place I’ve previously used for my shoot before and so I thought why not bring them there and let them have some fun in the place. Here’s my favorite photos from the shoot.

Why this site was started….

Some time back, I posted this and there were some friends that asked me what is it about. Well, For non-Nuffnang bloggers that’s curious about what I wrote, well, basically it’s this, editted abit as it’s posted in here instead of in Nuffnang’s blog.

It all started with the idea of wanting to have a place where I can put down all my thoughts as well as a little collection of what I’ve done in my life as a reference later on in life, also for my clients to flip through. I started with a website, but then I got lazy of updating it because it involves a lot of HTML editing and a lot of loading of FTP program to upload the stuff online. That was way back in 1996.

Appear in Time Magazine? Yah Right!

Appear in Time Magazine? Yah Right!

In 2006, I got myself into this blogging phenomena that was breaking out all over the world using free blog sites available online also for that same purpose, a place to document my journey in my work as well as a gallery of sort the things I do and the images I captured. From then, I figured I’d need something where I can have more control, a place to call my own. That’s how I got mikeyip.com started. (more…)
