36th Taekwondo National Championship 2009

The following series of photos are shot at the recently concluded TKD National Championship. It’s been awhile since I last went for a competition and it felt great being in an arena packed with young TKD exponents battling it out with one another.

Bring back good ol memories of how crazy it was in college when every free time the few of us have was spend at the Squash court where it was quiet and deserted except for the few love birds hiding in the dark corners making out. Those of you who studied there would definitely know which college i’m talking about. (more…)

QBasic

Do you remember the very first programming language you ever learn?

For me, that program was known as QBasic. I was 10 when my school first brought in about 10 units of computers for students to learn and play on. That time, everything was stored in a big 3″ floppy disc. I used to have 2 floppy disc with me whenever I go to class, one containing the program and it’s saved files and one containing the game DIGGER. (Evil laughter). Anyway, I still remember during that time, it was all simple simple stuff like how to create shapes and lines, the most complicated one I remembered was to create a house with windows and a door. Then, it was in KDU. I still remember that my classmates and I had to come up with a program to calculate a circuit board various items as one of our assignment in Telecommunication Engineering school. That was not something I’d want to remember cause it was one of the things that took up a lot of my fun time. LOL.

What’s QBasic? QBasic is a beginner’s computer language, it is a variant of the BASIC programming language designed by Microsoft. With QBasic, the user can design computer programs and/or utilities. In the late 80s and early 90s, Microsoft’s DOS came with a version of the BASIC platform known as the GWBasic but later place the standard with QBasic. Starting with Windows 95 though, programming languages became for-sale add-ons. Now there are newer programming languages such as C++, Delphi, Visual Basic, and Java. (more…)

Chit Chat with Fiqa (MDG)

This was done some time back but only found the time to post it up now. Spend some time having a talk with Fiqa and well, asked her some question which I told her will be posted on my blog. So here’s some of the things we touched on.

Fiqa Liyana Chong first came into the limelight through the Malaysia DreamGirls competition and with each passing weeks, fans of the show grew to like her even more. At the MDG Finals held at 1Utama, she blew everyone away with her transformation and makes it look like she has been doing the fashion catwalk all her life (I think she got the 2nd loudest cheers from the crowd with Hanis getting the loudest pop at the event). Anyway, on with the chit chat…

M: what are your plans now that MDG is over?
F: my plans after MDG once over is to apply college in KDU for July intake.. besides continuing study, i just signed contract with Capxion Media.. so now, i’ll be getting lots and lots of jobs from them hopefully.. =)

M: In terms of experience, what would have been the most impactful ever that you had from MDG?
F: I think i have learnt a lot from the whole experience and i don’t think there is one certain thing that i can plug out to say it is better than the other. all the photoshoots and things they taught me from MDG really did change me and also made me a better person. (more…)
