The Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge 2011 @ Le Marquee, the party of the Malaysian GP Formula 1 Weekend was held on the Saturday night before the race day at Palace of the Golden Horses. An invited guests only party, the music got thumbing and grooving from 8pm onwards even though the doors only opened to the party people from 8.30pm.

Will not state much about the event except that if you were not at the party, you missed out on an awesome night of Johnnie Walker, Music and fantastic company all around. Here’s some photos from the night and if you’re there and I’ve not tagged you on Facebook, head over to the Album and tag yourself. More photos after the Jump! (more…)

Experiencing the Lifestyle of a Formula 1 Driver

Thanks to Johnnie Walker Malaysia, I got to not only head down to Singapore to party it up like a G6 at the Jet Black Party but also experience what it’s like to live in the life of the rich and famous, in this case, as an F1 driver. Here’s my little story… (I hope you got the time to read til the end and not get bored….)

We took off from KLIA on a chilly Friday morning but before we even step into the plane, Johnnie Walker presented us each with 2 beautiful gifts, 1st a beautiful bottle of Gold Label (as seen in this studio hi-key shot). Yes, I have my own studio so I’m able to do all this kinda nonsense of shooting whatever things I get my hands on when I’m not busy with shoots. Can you see that beautiful name engraved into the bottle? Yup! My name’s on it! (more…)

Top 10 Travel Destination I want to go to

Posted By Michael Yip / March, 27, 2011 / 0 comments

I love to travel and had the opportunity to travel extensively when I was younger thanks to my dad needing to work oversea alot and his company provide the necessary arrangements for the family to spend holidays with him at the country he was working at. Even now, after I’ve done some traveling on my own, I still have not had enough and still wants more. I realized over the years that I’m not a person who travels to each destination and spend time going around shopping for stuff. Yes, I will still shop and buy stuff that catches my fancy but I won’t purposely travel to a destination for the sake of shopping only. So here’s my top 10 destination I’d want to head to before I keel over and hit the bucket. No, this is not my bucket list, no intention to drop dead after arriving to the airport from the last destination I check off this list. LMAO (more…)

Gallery Hotel Singapore

As you would have read from the previous post, I was down in Singapore for the Jet Black party organized by Johnnie Walker and the JW team from Malaysia put us in Gallery Hotel in the trendy Robertson Quay entertainment district. About 10 minutes walk away from the Clarke Quay area, the hotel is located next to the Singapore river but I can’t really see it as my room faces the main road instead.

I’ve not been to this hotel before even though I lived in the Clarke Quay area whenever I’m in Singapore over the past year and I was looking forward to seeing what this hotel has in store for us. The first thing that caught my attention was the unique design of the exterior and it’s color. The colors seem out of place but in a way, give it a unique look that make people look back at it after a quick glance.

I was given the Observatory Suite and it was located on the 8th floor. The design of the hotel in a way made us travel up 2 different sets of elevators to get to our room as the elevator from the lobby only bring us up to the 4th floor and we need to insert the hotel key card to access our respective floors. Stepping into the room, I was greeted by this sight, a nice little living room before I walk towards the side and be greeted by the bedroom side of the suite. The bathroom itself has frosted glass as walls which makes it look like you are surrounded by windows when you are in the bedroom area.

The bathroom served as the partition between the living room area and the bedroom so that guests who wants to retire early can do so while the other guest can just sit around in the living room area and watch the television. Only thing I don’t really like is the digital clock at the head of the bed which tends to glow really bright when all lights was turned off. Several times I was woken up by this light when my head was turned towards the center of the bed.

The pool area is located on the 5th floor and is accessible as long as you carry with you the hotel key card. The pool’s quite small but in a way, more than adequate as most people who uses this pool spend most of the time chilling about rather than actually doing laps. By the side of the pool is a small staircase that brings the guests down to the Gym 360.

The gym might not have many machines for us to use but the variations of machines available is adequate enough to allow fitness buff to work out their sets from head to toe. Some of these machines we don’t even see at the regular gyms! I didn’t really try out the gym as I didn’t bring proper gym clothes (since our activities for the Johnnie Walker event was so packed) but if I get the chance to stay in this hotel again, I’d definitely give this gym a try. Wonder how much one night at this place will set you back for?

Yup, the Observatory Suite I was housed in cost SGD680 a night and this does not include the 10% service charge and the 7 percent GST! I would say the price listed here is quite reasonable looking at the type of facilities they provided. Definitely a nice place to stay if you’re planning to party in the surrounding area or Filter Club.
