Cowboys Hitting The Dance floor

While majority of the KLites are either at MTV World Stage 2010 at Sunway Lagoon or at the Heineken Green Room, there are also some of us who prefer to just hang out with a bunch of friends at Modesto’s in CapSquare for our regular Salsa Night. As there are some of you who asked me why I don’t post up photos from my Salsa outing anymore, well, here’s the photos from the night. This Saturday Night’s theme was Cowboy/chequered shirts and through the social media networks, a lot of the dancers found out about the theme and came dressed for the occasion.

Just in case you want to plan your trip to the salsa venues, do note that most of the time, the dancing starts at 10pm as the places we go to also serves dinner services before we take over the dance floor. But we do have cases where the party starts earlier but those will be announce way earlier for all to take note. Every Saturday Salsa Social Nights are theme nights and normally we announce the theme of the night a day or two before. You can find out what’s the theme are by following me on Twitter or checking my Facebook Status. (more…)

Sunrise Duck Revisit

Posted By Michael Yip / April, 30, 2009 / 7 comments

I decided to revisit the famous Sunrise Duck Restaurant in Seapark. Told Joshuaong about it at the mamak session and ask him to bring his other half along. It was a Saturday and 11.30am was the time we arrived at the restaurant. We thought that it would be packed on a weekday, boy, it was super packed even at 11.30. We were lucky to find ourselves a table.

Joshua told us he’ll be late so without waiting, we decide to order half a duck to start off as appetizer. The standard I normally order would also come with a plate of vegetable and 2 large bowl of soups as I love to drink soup. (more…)

Heineken Ice Cream

Heading out to Hennessy Artistry shortly, just thought I’d share this very interesting recipe with you.

Heineken Ice Cream as prepared by Chef Joël Antunes of JOËL – Atlanta, GA

Yield: 10 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 8 egg yolks
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • ½ gallon heavy cream
  • 1½ gallons whole milk
  • 10 ounces Heineken beer
  • 5 dried juniper berries
  • 1 bay leaf

Method:
Mix egg yolks and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Combine cream and milk in a large pot and bring to a rapid boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Slowly add milk and cream to egg and sugar mixture while whisking constantly. Pour tempered mixture back into pot and heat to 184°F. When the custard has the consistency of crème Anglaise, remove from heat and place pot in an ice bath.

Add beer, juniper berries, and bay leaf to custard. Cover pot with plastic wrap and infuse for 2 hours. Strain mixture through a chinois and then process in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Simple to prepare and it satisfy the hunger for beer and a nice shot of ice cream! – mikeyip.com

Heineken House (Pre-Match Party) and PAS

Posted By Michael Yip / July, 28, 2008 / 1 comments

One thing I’m quite piss about at this moment was the fact that PAS tried to rule other races by banning the freaking Heineken party! When I went to collect the invite earlier today, I was informed that I could just keep the invite for momento sake as they’ve cancelled the Heineken pre-match party.

I asked why so and was informed that due to PAS’ constant harassment, the Selangor government decide to ban Heineken from the match they sponsored! (Read more here and here) I mean like, why what the heck?

So are we safe to say that booze should not be sold at any venue where muslim would be around? Then they better go close down all those pubs, bars and clubs in Malaysia along with the factories manufacturing all those beers like G.A.B. and Carlsberg cause at the end of the day, I know for sure that there’s muslims in those area.

PAS is really pissing me off with their attitute of I’m Holier than Thou. They are just ruining the life of all the normal citizen’s life (as far as I’m concern, in Selangor). Why in the world did anyone would vote PR in when they are doing this type of crap and stopping any type of fun from being organized in places where they are around? I think their sense of FUN is watching their own beard grow. Too much free time in their lifes to go ruining the life of other people. Don’t you feel?

Why am I so worked up about it? Heck, simple reason. They can’t drink beer in public and they are stopping everyone else from doing so! If they don’t want muslims to drink, by all mean, send one of their own people and stand by the entrance like a guard dog and screen through all those that gets into the party area! And I think they should do that at all entertainment joints! That’s right, since they are so free to do all this nonsense, by all mean, go stand at the entrance of ZOUK or EUPHORIA and stop any one they think is a Muslim from entering the venue. Wouldn’t that be good? The citizen’s tax being put to good use at the end of the day!

GRRR!!! Bunch of Fark Faces. I WANT MY BOOZE! I think I’ll sneak in some beers with me to the venue.Have my own booze party! Anyone in agreement should bring a can or two as well and share with anyone who wants! After all, we’re not a company or an organization, they can’t stop us from drinking. Right?
