My Fav. Fast Food Outlet In The Klang Valley

I was bored one afternoon, so grab my neighbor’s kapchai and rode out to this place. You can say that it’s my favorite fast food outlet in the Klang Valley for a three simple reasons.

  1. It’s near to my home
  2. It’s 24hours
  3. It serves my favorite fast food meals.

So here it is, without much needed introduction.

This is a Single Photo HDR. Just doing it out of fun, it’s not the best HDR that everyone can see but still, love it cause done by me.

The Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple

Made a trip to the Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple on early Sunday morning with cwken as I wanted to increase more photos for my collection of places of worship series. Here are some of the photos I took, spend some time experimenting around with the photos on Photoshop and these are the results.

Playing in the Lalang field

I know over the past couple of months, you’ve been seeing a lot of sun set photos from me. Well, I can’t really help it as that’s one of the most beautiful and magical hours to me.

The play of light at that hour is just magnificant, God’s wonders never cease to amaze me. How the heaven turn the day to night and the colors that appears in between that switch. It’s incredible don’t you think so? (more…)

Setting Sun Over Port Dickson

Another landscape series from me, this was shot at Port Dickson near the Yacht Club against a hazy backdrop. As you know, lately the west coast of Malaysia has been enveloped by a layer of haze, it’s nothing new of course since Indonesia, our oh so friendly neighbor like to burn things in the open and fan it our way.

How come none of our enforcement officers are issuing them with any summons when they are so diligently issuing summons for even the most minute of offenses? Isn’t open burning an offense? (more…)

Mosque @ Dusk

After taking photos of the Sikh Temple a couple of weeks back, I decided that it would be a nice thing to do to capture images of other places of worship as well. How they look early in the morning when the sun is rising or in the evening when the sun is setting. Depending of course on which direction the sun comes up or down against the building itself.

So here’s one of the Kota Damansara mosque taken in the evening just before muslims enter the place for their Maghrib prayers. The first shot was a HDR of 9 images which in my opinion isn’t very good, am still learning to use photomatix to bring out the best of the image. Definitely will try again and update this post if I manage to come up with a better image. (more…)

Construction Site Portraiture

I had a chance to go into a construction site to take some shots, mostly of the construction that is going on there as I like to capture images of people doing their respective activities. Humans are just curious about things around them and how things were build and so forth. I’m one of those people that’s always curious.

Here’s some portraits of the construction workers that allowed me to take photos of them while they worked.

Creating Art out of Photography?

These days, as you can see on my blog, I’ve been actively going around taking photos, basically of anything and everything that caught my attention.

Some of them nice, some of them not, some of them overly done, some of them… well, you get the idea. These are two photos I took recently, I kind of like it but the original was just a tad too …. plain for me. So I started playing around with them using photoshop and photomatix pro.

Virgin Dawn Experience

The last couple of days, I’ve been posting up a lot of first, from Sunset to landscapes to HDRs to Moon. Today, here’s a sun rise photography first for me. Waking up early in the morning just to go catch the morning sun rising over the horizon. It’s not the easiest of thing do, try dragging yourself out of the bed at 5 in the morning and start getting ready to head out to the location. It ain’t easy!

HDR: Leaves in shower

HDR (High dynamic range imaging) isn’t something that I normally play with. Nevertheless, it’s still good to try and work something out.

Here’s 3 shots of the same photo, one shot normally and 2 through HDR (Processed from 9 images).

1. Normal Unprocessed Straight off the Cam Shot

HDR Palm Spring Damansara

The Pool I swim In
(Playing around with HDR!)

Just a few shots of Palm Spring Damansara, the place where I’ve been spending alot of my time at present. Experimenting on HDR and trying to improve on things, every day is a new learning experience. HDR for those that’s not into photography that much but is still as curious is basically a term for High dynamic range photography.

HDR of Starbucks Kota Damansara

Was having a drink with StrippedSteph and Freaky in regards to some new projects we are planning and while the topic strayed to more personal stuff, I decide to just step out and grab a few shots just to learn more about HDR.

I know I still have a long way to go compared to some of the more pro photogs that has been dabbling in HDR photography. Still, I guess it’s never too late to learn. Right?

What do you think of these shots? Feel free to comment. You can click on the image for larger pics.

View from Palm Spring through HDR

Took this shot just outside of my unit using HDR.

This is what I see everyday when I step out to the balcony.

Need to learn up more about HDR to play around with it. First time trying out Photoshop’s HDR function.

This shot was initially taken because I was trying to capture a photo of this truck just behind the TNB station doing some illegal Open Burning, as the distance is quite great, I couldn’t zoom in close enough to capture a shot of the truck and the people behind it. Sure is dangerous as if the fire gets out of control, it could result in power failure for the everyone from Mutiara Damansara all the way to Kota Damansara.
