Recently, I was invited to Nila Palacious’s Spring/Summer Collection’s fashion show at E-Mage in Kota Damansara. Evelyn Ch’ng kicked off the show by giving a small speech sharing what the boutique is all about especially for the guests visiting the place for the first time before Nila step up to explain about her concept behind the Spring/Summer Collection.

The Latin styled fashion that Nila brings into the Malaysian fashion industry as the core idea she put into the design works around comfort, stylish and dance. Yes, dance as the dresses she designed is also worn by latin social dancers on a regular basis and the way the dress is designed made it look beautiful and fluid on the dance floor. (more…)

Prema Yin – Portrait of a Rocker Chic

A few weeks ago, Prema Yin contacted me to get some shots done as she needed new photos for her US promo. Sat down with her and ran some ideas off her before a date is set and before we know it, the shoot was done and the photos was off to the land of the rising sun. Oh wait… I mean USA. She only had to select 1 but we manage to squeeze in quite a few varieties of clothes and locations and here’s some of my favorite ones.

You can now download BLOW MY MIND…. (hmm… blow my….) on her website, just click on the link on her name above. (more…)

The following are a series of photos of Baby Yvonne in a more fashion based theme. The shoot was done during mid morning when the sun was heading towards it’s high point resulting in a very flat and challenging shoot.

With the clothes and make-up style, I tried to gear the whole project towards the retro feel. (more…)

Going to the shops with Eva Lim

I know I posted up this post earlier but somehow it’s no longer in my list. I guess I’ll have to start all over again. :( A whole list of footnotes and stuff all gone down the drain. A bug? Someone got into my account with my super long password that I can barely remember and remove my posts?

Anyway, back to the post. What you get when you have a rainy day, a girl and 2 sets of clothes plus some free time on hand? No, don’t expect any wet t-shirt photos in here. Just a few photos of what I would say is an experimental photoshoot. I will list each photo with a short description of the set-up I used.

1. Escalating effect

Shot with the D300 with the AF Nikkor 50mm glass assist by 1 SB600 working as Slave. Slave positioned at the top right position with it’s strength at 1/1. Setting for Camera is ISO200, F/10 at shutter speed of 1/100sec.

2. Wall of Art(?)

Shot with the D300 with the Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 glass assist by 1 SB600 working as Slave. Slave positioned at the top right position with it’s strength at 1/16. Setting for Camera is ISO200, F/10 at shutter speed of 1/100sec.

One coming thing from these two photos is the way she stand and her head positioning, just realized the similarity only after I got home but oh well. What’s done’s done.
