R.I.P Compaqticon
My ever faithful notebook, the Compaqticon (i know, weird name to give a notebook) has finally departed.

It’s death is a tragic one. Conspiracy theorists (on MSN, Twitter and Facebook) has been running wild over how it died. Hopefully it’s brain where all the data is stored is still in one piece (i’ve yet to figure out how to extract them as windows XP and Mac won’t read NTFS format drive), if you have any suggestions, I will be very grateful.
Until the time comes for the data to be retrieved. I won’t be able to post up the photos (portraits, landscapes, products) to update my blog that I have lined-up but yet to upload.
My View on Internet Filtration by M’sia’s Government
I must say that the recent bashing our dear YB Rais Yatim is getting from the Internet community is surely giving his old body a few bruises here and there. If you’ve no idea what I’m talking about, I’m talking about the Internet filtration that the Government is mulling over. Yes, it’s similar to China’s abandoned “Green Dam” project, but then, we also have to look at it in the bigger picture.
Am I siding his decision? I would say no, what for? You can’t get into your favorite porn sites? Go through one of those proxy sites you could access to (I’ll post several links at the bottom of this post for you to use). You can’t access your favorite anti-establishment websites like RPK’s Malaysia-Today site/blog/portal because it’s bashing the government left right and center? Go ahead, use the proxy servers. After all, the government forgot that they even pen down the thing about No Censorship to the Internet, so why not, we as Internet users also go about working around the censorship? (more…)
Free Apps and Games for iPhone
Now that iPhone finally came into Malaysia no thanks to the slow moving Maxis, users would be looking at all the applications that’s available for the device right? Now, unless your iPhone’s jailbroken, you’d have to practically pay anything from USD0.99 upwards for the games and apps. But have no fear, there are also some free ones that’s available for download into the phone.
Just want to share some of the ones I like and uses. You could also download these applications if you have the iPod Touch too. After all, these Apps are FREE!
Social Networking Apps
1. Facebook
Facebook has such a strong presence these days that just like Twitter, people wants to update it frequently and let people know what’s happening in their lives. What better way than to use the Facebook App on iPhone right?
What if God has Facebook
Have you ever wondered what the Facebook Profile for God will be like?

New Year’s Eve Countdown Party
So, 2008 is coming to an end.
Have you decided where to go for the countdown?
If you’re in Klang Valley, maybe you could check out Mardi Gras’ New Year Eve bash or even a cozy quiet one at Sime Darby’s Halia Restaurant.
If you’re in Miri, there’s the Dinner and Dance held at Miri Marriott Resort & Spa. Well, don’t say I’m not considerate about the friends in the Borneo Island.
If you’re in Singapore, you could go to the Marina Bay for their Coutndown Party as well.
BUT! The best party of all, will not be held at the above mentioned venues cause you can party like the Kings when you go to the party held in Johor! OK OK … I went around the bush just because I want to talk about the Sex Party that’s being planned in Johor!
That’s provided if the Police doesnt’ clam down on it and the organizers didn’t run away from their ‘obligations’. I wondered how many guys out there that’s already paid for the ‘party’ hoping to have a very jolly ‘nude’ time. According to the Organizer, 200 women, including female collg students from Kuala Lumpur and Malacca had already confirmed their attendance.
Men attending the event must be prepared to strip off their underwear upon midnight and women attending the event must come in G-Strings and be ready to get it off by midnight too! WOW! Also, men, if you’re going, bring along condoms as the organiser said they could not offer “an AIDS-free guarantee package” to the would-be revellers.
There is an entrance fee of RM250 which is to be deposited into the account of the organiser. Bank in RM100 first as a deposit and the remainder of the amount need to be paid before the venue is disclosed. Not a bad strategy I tell you, even if 10 guys put in their deposit, the Organizer easily walked off with RM1,000 without much worries and can just claim that they have to scrap the event due to police presence. Very good strategy indeed.
Well, yeah, am just trying to lend a helping hand in guiding fellow blog readers to the various parties in town. I’m not getting paid by any of these organizers so this post is not an advertorial! In fact, I didn’t even get any invites to the party in Johor!
So I’ll only be spending a quiet New Year’s Eve in the comfort of a home around people who’s precious to me. Well, hope you guys have a good time at the parties out there. Looking forward to tons of photos to be uploaded on Facebook.

Porn passed over as people goes social!
Here’s an interesting read, porn is no longer the no. 1 thing online, to be replaced Social Networking! Click here for more!
Here’s an exerpt from the article:
Social networking sites are the hottest attraction on the Internet, dethroning pornography and highlighting a major change in how people communicate, according to a web guru.
The article’s quite true in the sense that more and more people these days spend more time on sites like FACEBOOK and PLURK as well as blogging while surfing for Porn is no longer a thing that is done regularly.
Look at the present situation, doesn’t have to be far, just within the very country of Malaysia. When you look around your fellow colleagues or class mates (at the comp lab), before life revolves around FACEBOOK and such, you’d be able to catch your colleagues or mates surfing the web for porn as well as sending out porn related emails to his friends and colleagues. Right? These days, 9 out of 10 people I talk to and even observed are on Facebook. Even my own dad is on Facebook and checking it once in a while when he’s at home.
I guess with the world getting smaller with the emergence of the Internet, people finds it easier to network and socialize online, making new friends not only within the confine of your surrounding area, but even far off places like England or America. It’s all only a few clicks and a message away! Through blogging and Facebook, I’ve even made friends with people who doesn’t speak the same language (some from Latin America and some from places like Italy and France) as I do but share the same passion that I have.
So come share with me, do you think what this ‘web guru’ say is true? That porn is no longer the no.1 thing online and is replaced by Online Social Networking?

A Visit to Rumah Kasih
Project RAOK, a Facebook group I’m in recently visited Rumah Kasih in SS3 bearing gifts and our time to spend with the kids. The home is quite new with only 16 children living there along with 2 caretaker mothers.

Seeing us there, they were quite happy and cheerful, especially when they see the new clothes I got them and the toys that Lynn Dhia brought. There was also cupcakes too while Alda brought along a guitar to entertain the children with his guitar skills.
