Red Bull F1 Party @ Sentosa Island

I’ve been bugged to post up photos from this event for quite some time now and since I have some time at the moment, why not post it up and make everyone happy right? It’s the Red Bull F1 Party at Sentosa Island and I’ll just let the photos do all the talking here.

Up-Close and racing with Sébastien Buemi

Previously, I posted photos of Jaime Alguersuari of Scuderia Toro Rosso, this post is about his team mate, Sébastien Buemi. Also taken at the same location, Sébastien carries himself in a more confident manner throughout the day, even at the Red Bull party (that’ll be another story for another post). So without much needed introduction, here’s some photos taken from that day.

Up-Close and Racing with Jaime Alguersuari

He might not be in the fight for the top spots in Formula 1, but nevertheless, he is one of the 20 that’s lucky enough to race competitively in the Formula 1 race.

Jaime Alguersuari took some time off his busy schedule to meet with Scuderia Toro Rosso fans prior to the Singapore GP and race around a few laps at the Go-Kart circuit to give a teaser to the fans what to expect at the Singapore Night Race 2009. (more…)

Toro Rosso F1 Drivers

Take it as a teaser post, take it as a single photo post. This is Toro Rosso’s Sébastien Buemi & Jaime Alguersuari getting ready.

Are you ready for the Singapore GP? It’s the Night Race everyone’s waiting for in the Formula 1 Calendar.

Work and all

Over the last couple of days, having worked with various people covering the formula 1. Most of them mention this of me.

1. I’m quite a quiet person but one with loads of energy waiting to explode especially when i’m getting ready for an assignment.

- I’m not really a quiet person, just one who would only have loads to say when it’s the right topic. (more…)

Meeting Nico Rosberg prior to the Singapore GP 2009

It was an interview session that is different from the usual boring interviews. Nico Rosberg was quite relax and was enjoying himself throughout the interview session. Imagine this, we started off the interview in 1 location and end up in 2 other location.

Managed to get @StrippedSteph into the 3rd location and get a photo taken with him. Her reaction? “Who’s he?” (more…)

1 Week to Singapore GP

It’s 1 week to the Formula 1 Race in Singapore. Not sure about you but I’m excited about it. Having been to the one in Sepang, I’d love to experience the race in another country, in this case, it’s Singapore!

I’ve been working like a dawg lately as there’s bills to pay and all that mumbo jumbo but at the moment, I am enjoying what I do. I guess that’s the only way to enjoy work, by doing what we like to do so we don’t complain so much. Right? (more…)

Souled Out Restaurant

Here’s a scenario for a perfect date, Formula 1 or Man Utd playing a LIVE football match on the big screen, great food and a lovely girlfriend as company. Perfect right? StrippedSteph and I went on such perfect date few Sundays back at Souled Out cafe.

It was right after we watched ‘He’s Not That into You’ at Cineleisure and we decide to go for a nice dinner. Instead of hanging around at The Curve, we decided to go to Souled Out. It had always been one of my favorite place to go, whether it was with my friends from MCA or fellow Sports friends. It had been awhile though since I last went there, not much had changed, the valet parking was still there, the friendly crew was still there but there’s a slight change to the menu. (more…)

Bahrain GP Race Result

Jenson Button has taken victory in the Bahrain Grand Prix from fourth on the starting grid. The World Championship leader pulled clear of the chasing pack as Sebastian Vettel and pole-sitter Jarno Trulli completed the rostrum. Champion Hamilton finished fourth as Kimi Räikkönen scored Ferrari’s first points of the year.

Jenson Button had strong doubts over his chances in the Bahrain Grand Prix, especially after qualifying fourth on the grid in qualifying. Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock were the men to steal the show on Saturday by taking Toyota’s first ever front row lockout, with Sebastian Vettel’s heavier fuelled Red Bull lining up third. Temperatures soared to 38°C (100°F) at the start of the race, as weather conditions couldn’t have been any different to those in China last weekend. (more…)

Bahrain GP Qualifying Results

Jarno Trulli has taken pole position in Bahrain as the Toyota team locks out the front row for the first time in their history. Chinese Grand Prix winner Sebastian Vettel will start third ahead of British contenders Button and Hamilton. Both Ferraris qualified in the top ten, with eighth and tenth for Massa and Räikkönen.

Something Mark Webber wasn’t expecting, however, was being held up by Adrian Sutil in the dying stages of Q1. The Australian, who finished second in China last weekend, passed the Force India before the last corner – ruining one lap – only to be overtaken again at the start of his final attempt. The German apologised soon after for Webber’s ’screwed’ qualifying session, as the Red Bull starts the race a provisional 19th on the grid. He will be joined on the back row by Sébastien Bourdais, who struggled again with his Toro Rosso. Sutil qualified in 16th place, missing out on the Q2 by one tenth, ahead of Buemi and Fisichella. Shanghai GP Qualifying Result

Sebastian Vettel claimed his first Pole ever for the Red Bull Racing team in China ahead of a rejuvenated Fernando Alonso for Renault. The second Red Bull of Mark Webber is third with Rubens Barrichello the first Brawn car in fourth. Jenson Button fails to claim his hattrick of poles will be starting from fifth.

Kimi Räikkönen could only manage the 9th position for Ferrari while the controversy hit McLaren of Lewis Hamilton comes in at 10. Massa was in 13th and Kovalainen was just one spot above him in 12th in the other McLaren.

Red Bull is estatic with the pole position while Ferrari must be wondering whether it was the right thing to do to run without the KERS in this GP. The many straights on this circuit definitely could benefit the KERS users especially with that additional power boosts when over taking is needed.

We could only wait and see what the result will bring tomorrow at the Shanghai GP. (more…)

Malaysian GP Race Result

A rain soaked race that saw Jenson Button winning the Malaysian GP after the race was Red Flagged. The race was halted after 33 laps and with the 2 hour time limit draw closer, the race could not be restarted. With the final results being taken back by a lap, Nick Heidfeld took second for BMW with Toyota’s Timo Glock third.

Button’s second win from two races this year confirms a 100% wins to starts ratio for the new Brawn GP team; starting from pole position, the Englishman found himself fourth after the first corners as he swapped positions with Nico Rosberg, as the German’s Williams launched off the grid to slide down the inside of Turn 1. Fernando Alonso also made a good start by leapfrogging from ninth to the third on the grid.

With rain having threatened all weeked, Räikkönen and Ferrari were the first to jump by fitting the car with extreme wet tyres when needing to pit for fuel; with no drops falling for a number of laps, the Finn soon plummeted from fifth to fifteenth. By the time the rain did come, the 2007 champion was already one and a half minutes behind the leaders, with his tyres destroyed. (more…)

Malaysian GP Qualifying Result

With a later start compared to previous years, the rain didn’t show itself as the Qualifying session kicked off. A Qualifying full of drama as Button takes Pole again after Melbourne. Joining him on the front row is Toyota’s Jarno Trulli. Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel and Brawn GP’s Rubens Barrichello were third and fourth, but grid penalties for both mean Toyota’s Timo Glock and Williams’ Nico Rosberg will form row two.Ferrari’s Raikkonen could only land himself in the 9th position while Massa qualifying in 16th. McLaren was 13th and 14th respectively after the controversial Melbourne GP still haunting them.

Button is looking set to show that the win at Melbourne is no fluke while Ferrari and McLaren will be looking to reclaim the throne that Brawn GP so comfortably control this season. Will the April 14th hearing regarding the diffuser affect how the 3 teams running the controversial diffuser perform? It’s all to watch for tomorrow. The Full result of the Qualifying is as follow… (more…)

McLaren’s Hamilton Howler

I know I’m 3 days too late in posting this but then, heck, I’ve been busy!

Anyway, looking at the Canadian GP Flashback, I’m really disappointed with Lewis Hamilton. I’m no McLaren fan mind you. I’m disappointed with Lewis for doing such a silly error in the Pitlane, practically a rookie mistake that only rookies in their first years would have done. 10 Grid Penalty doesn’t seem like a just punishment for this Driver, I say they should also fine him a good $100,000 as well along with the 10 Grid Penalty @ the next race. That’ll be more like it.

I guess you can say… Like Father, Like Son.
