Dim Sum @ Restoran Ho Choon Sien

I’ve been going to this restaurant in Damansara Uptown for years. I grew up studying just across the road from where this restaurant is located and it is this place and the neighbour (Khalifah Restoran) that we patronized all the time during my time in high school.

As the years gone by, Ho Choon Sien popularity grew for their nasi lemak and dim sum as the years go by and every morning irregardless whether it’s a week day or weekend, the place will be filled with hungry people lining up to buy nasi lemak or enjoy a few plates of dim sum. I myself has been a regular customer of this restaurant for years and now pass on the knowledge of this place to my 2 monsters (I make it sound like it’s heaven on earth but heck, I can’t find the right term to use at the moment).

Yam Char Restaurant @ Chinatown, Singapore

You know how much I love my Dim Sums and how I want to finally be ordering food in Cantonese instead of in my oh-so-wonderfully-crappy mandarin.

The venue of our choice? The Yam Char Restaurant, located in the heart of the Chinatown, about 5minutes slow walk from the MRT station. We got there at about 3pm after checking out some of the shopping complexes in Orchard Road area (Doing the touristy thing) and we were just in time for their High Tea Buffet. At SGD18.80 per person (SGD14.80 for the kids), it’s quite a reasonably priced buffet. (more…)
