A Day with Mr. Robo…
Hello, I’m Robo, I guess you can say I’m his “Guest Blogger” and I’m here to talk to you about my experience tagging along with Mike on his typical work day. Yes, he does leave the house every now and then instead of hiding in his little cave staring at the computer. He started his day way too early for my liking, we left the house for the cafe at 7am just so he’ll get his lil cuppa black coffee.

Breakfast was quite a long one as he tend to spend that time to catch up on his news, from the local front to the international papers (and most of it is on sports). It’s quite a boring time for me as there’s no eye candy at the cafe so early in the morning. And he always hide in a small corner away from everyone else. (more…)
Portrait of RedFM Late Night Love songs Deejays: Linora Low & Mynn Lee
If you Tune in to the 104.9 every Sunday to Friday, you’d hear the RedFM Late Night Love Songs hosted by these two weird little creature that pumps out all those soppy songs to your speakers and give out goodies every now and then. You can call them the Red Leprechauns but I prefer to call them my friends.

The two I’m talking about is Linora Low and Mynn Lee. Two of the noisiest people I’ve ever known, once you get them started, they won’t stop even if the Tsunami is striking the Klang Valley. (more…)
A Message To All The Wanna Be Dj
Here’s to all the aspiring DJs. A message from DJ STICKEM which I find both funny and true.
Lambada-Zouk & Bachata Night @ Shivz
Just recently Shivz opened it’s doors to the salsa community on Thursdays for a weekly session of Lambada-Zouk and Bachata just for the crowd that’s into those genre of dance instead of the more common Salsa, Bachata or Merenggue. I don’t dance Lambada-Zouk, tried to pick it up but crashed and burnt, but seeing how there’s a strong following by a small group of people to this genre of dance and how gracious Shivz is by having a night just for it on top of the salsa night on Sundays, I decide to volunteer my services.

So yeah, you can catch me at Shivz on Thursday as well where I’ll be spinning a lot of Lambada Zouk tunes on top of some Bachata and a few Salsa thrown in (so that I can at least have a few dance myself). The majority type of Zouk I play on these nights is the Neo-Zouk where the music is mixed and fused with trance and modern music with basic Zouk beats, the original French or Portuguese lyrics are ommitted as Neo-Zouk ethuthiasts have better connection with transcendental music. For the you, especially with this genre of dance and all these new terms you’re reading, you can swing by at 9.00pm onwards where Cherie Thum would conduct a small introductory workshop for beginners to the world of Lambada-Zouk, more precisely, the Porto Seguro-style. DJ Kuya @ The Republic
Recently had lunch with DJ Kuya and we had a good talk about his work and what he’s been up to. I’ll be posting that ‘interview’ up soon but for now, if you intend to check him out, head over to The Republic @ Sunway Pyramid and watch him work the decks this Friday night.
Here’s a sample of his sound (he’s working on an album now).
