The Goliath Burger Challenge @ The Frame Cafe, Sunway Pyramid

While I was stuffing myself silly over a late lunch, I received a message from a friend (Sam Insanity) asking me if I’d love to join him for another burger challenge at Sunway Pyramid. Without batting an eyelid, I said YES only to regret my decision later as I was still quite full by the time I got to Frames Cafe at 7.30pm for the Goliath Burger Challenge.

The Challenger we are to face is known as the Goliath Burger. At first, I thought how hard can it be to finish a 3.5kg burger in 45minutes? Furthermore Frames was nice enough to skip the cheese in my burger. Well, I spoke too soon when they finally serve the meal that we were to finish. (more…)

Chinese Horoscope for the Year of the Rabbit 2011

Posted By Michael Yip / January, 4, 2011 / 1 comments

It’s that time of the year again where we reflect on what our Chinese horoscope ‘advice’ us for this year. Again, I’m just sharing what I received through email. Whether it really reflects on you is purely on yourself. Have a great 2011. The Year of The Rabbit begins on February 3rd 2011. Most Rabbit years are quiet, positive and inspiring and 2011 looks to be heading in this direction – a refreshing change after the fast-moving and quite dramatic Year of the Tiger. Family, diplomacy and personal development will all be highlighted in 2011. Once again alternative sources of energy and green living will be under the spotlight.

Overall, it should be a fun and relatively peaceful year. Even though aggression, violence and war zones will still be in evidence, the Chinese Rabbit year favors peaceful solutions and diplomacy, so there will be a feeling that all is not lost and that hope is still very much alive. Let’s take a look at each animal, their major personality traits and what the prospects are for 2011, the Year of the Rabbit. (more…)

Paddington House of Pancakes @ The Curve

It has been awhile since I last been to Paddington and so on a Wednesday before heading off for Salsa, that’s where we went. Since the last time I visited the place, Paddington House of Pancakes at The Curve has expanded from just a single store to the size of 2 lots. Design of the place is beautifully done but the same can’t be said about the service as we were seated towards the more quiet corner of the restaurant so we could have some nice conversation without the worry of raising our voice too much. After walking up to the waiters that was congregating in the other part of the restaurant and made them come over to take my orders, it didn’t take long for them to serve us our food.

What I had was the Rancher’s Smokey Chicken Burger – Grilled chicken with BBQ Sauce, chicken bacon, hashbrown and peppers on 2 pineapple upside down pancakes. The portion was just right and the overall taste was just so so. Won’t say that it’ll be a dish I’d come back for as there’s quite a selection in the menu to select from. (more…)

Cock Story

A farmer rears 25 young hens and 1 old cock.

As the old cock could no longer handle his job efficiently, the farmer bought one young cock from the market.

Old cock: “Welcome to join me, we will work together towards productivity.”

Young cock: “What do you mean? As far as I know, you are old and should retire.”

Old cock: “Young boy, there are twenty-five hens here, can’t I help you with some?”

Young cock: “No! Not even one, all of them will be mine.”

Old cock: “In this case, I shall challenge you to a competition and if I win, you shall allow me to have one hen and if I lose you will have all.”

Young cock: “Ok! What kind of competition?” (more…)
