One again, It was Shalom’s birthday celebration at the park and all the furkids came out to play. It was drizzling earlier before the 9am meeting time and my monsters and Baskin D. Dawg was worried they might not get to go. Thank God the rain stopped just before 9am and everyone bundled into the car and got themselves ready to go …

Some new faces and some new furkids was there. Everyone had a good time running around… chasing after their furkids. Here’s some photos from the party at Central Park. Less words, more photos. (more…)

Nikon 10 Year Anniversary

Over the recent weekend, Nikon held a 4 day exhibition at MidValley to celebrate their 10 year Anniversary. Started on the Thursday with a Media Launch at 10.30am with a short speech by the Managing Director of Nikon as well as a short opening gambit. The 4 day event also had a lot of activities lined up for Nikon users, from a display of all the past and present Camera models Nikon produced to workshops as well as free Sensor Cleaning service.

One thing I would like to ask is, who came up with the slide show for the stage at the Media Launch? I showed my monsters at home after the event this photo and ask them who they think did the design and they told me it look like the fonts they use in their kindergarten. Seriously, don’t they have any other fonts to use that would look more professional than these? Or is it such a rush job that they just slap on any fonts they could find? (more…)

A Surprised Birthday Celebration @ Dance Spirit Co.

It was Fasil aka Salsa Spirit’s birthday on the 2nd and some of us who won’t be able to celebrate with him on Wednesday decide to have 1 at his studio where he was teaching. His students told him it’s just a small group of students get together to do some tossing of the yee sang (鱼生) since Chinese New Year’s just a few days away.

Those of us not part of the studio as well as his former students gathered together outside and proceed to sneak into his studio while he is distracted by his class. Plan worked perfectly, he completed his lesson at 10.30pm, came out, told the students to lets get the Lou Sang over with and before he know what happened, out we came singing a Happy Birthday song to him. Not sure whether he was surprised (or he might just be pretending…).

It is something different as it was a combination of celebrating his birthday as well as to celebrate Chinese New Year by tossing of the Yee Sang. There’s also some fortune cookies and I was quite amused by what was written on it. It was also a great time to catch up with some of the ex students of Dance Spirit as I haven’t seen them at the Social Salsa scene.

Can’t wait for more dancing and celebrations to come for 2011 and Happy Birthday again Fasil.

The last of my celebration with friends ended with a bang as I celebrated the 2010′s celebration along with Jason @ WalauWei (who so graciously organized the whole thing) and Jeremy @ BBoyRice who incidentally turned 21 on 10.10.10.

The venue of choice was GAJA located at the Junction between Jalan Bangsar and Jalan Maarof, initial plan was to have it at Alexis but the venue was shifted to GAJA due to the number of attendees that say YES to attending this little Birthday Dinner Party. (more…)

MY 21st (NOT) Birthday Celebration Part 3 of 4 – Dance

My birthday continues with the group of friends I dances with. Since I got back from Singapore 6 months back, they are the one that has always been there to dance with me and to hang out, maybe in a way cause we speak the same language, they could even tell if something is wrong with me when no other friends would know. And this make me cherish the friendship I’ve formed with them even more.

You must be wondering by now why I’ve separated my birthday post to 4 postings instead of just 1 posting to blog about. Well, it’s simple, I didn’t only have 1 big celebration but instead a few small ones which in a way, makes it even more memorable. A dinner with a small group of friends, a party with a small group of friends and now a dance with a small group of friends. In the end, it does come up to a big celebration but over a few days long, like a Woodstock of Michael’s Birthday Celebration. (more…)
