Air Hitam Asam Laksa @ Jalan Pasar, Penang

On the journey up towards Kek Lok Si, while we get near Jalan Pasar, our Penangite friend decide to pull us over to the side of the road, dangerously close to the T-junction where cars were squeezing by and the locals were busy going about doing their morning shopping at the wet market. All because of the Asam Laksa road side stall that was there.

Supposedly known as the famous Air Hitam Asam Laksa, it’s operation runs like clock work with each person assigned to a task of taking orders, preparing the ingredient, boiling the noodle and pouring in the soup and condiments and so on and so forth. At RM3 a bowl, it only comes in 1 size. If you want more, order 2. Simple concept and easier for their calculation.
