RIP Steve Jobs (1955 – 2011)

The world lost one of it’s brightest visionary and creative genius, leaving behind a brand that only he could have built. He battled pancreatic cancer for seven years and finally succumbed, his death announced to the world just days after the unveiling of the iPhone 4s. He is 56 this year.

Jon Stewart Slams Apple over their handling of the iPhone 4G saga
The world wide web is abuzz with the news of the leaked iPhone 4G that reached the hands of the people in Gizmodo. Then the whole Law Enforcement Officers slamming down door to raid the house of Jason Chen the Gizmodo Editor. It’s all blowing things out of proportion. It could be a big elaborated act, it could be real. We wouldn’t know but heck, Gizmodo’s doing Apple a great job helping them to entice users to their new iPhone. Right?
Well, even Jon Stewart of the Daily Show got into the act of slamming Steve Job and Apple over this whole thing. Watch the clip and have a good laugh.
Apple & Job launched the iPad
After all the hype and the suspense leading up to yesterday night (Malaysia time), Apple finally launched their very own Tablet PC. Aptly named the iPad, it’s what most netizens would call an enlarged version of the iPod Touch/iPhone.

For people like myself who spend a lot of time online using their iPhone, this would be a tempting new ‘toy’ to play with. After all, it comes with a bigger screen meaning you can read/view things without constantly scrolling left and right to read texts on websites. The iPad will also be giving Amazon’s Kindle DX a run for it’s money as the iPad is able to give readers the chance to view materials in full color compared to the Kindle’s non-color, limited function device. The 16GB model is only USD$10 more than the USD$489 kindle too! (more…)

Described in the application as “enforcement routine” software, it is believed the technology would force users to watch or listen to small adverts which they would be unable to skip past.
Apple, like all leading technology firms, regularly files experimental patent applications, which never come to fruition. But the inclusion of Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs’ name on the application, has led some commentators to conclude that the idea is being taken seriously by the company. It is believed pressure from rival firms, such as Spotify – which allows users to download free music tracks providing they listen to periodic adverts – has persuaded Apple to take the technology seriously.
