Song of the Sea @ Sentosa Island

After the visit to the Universal Studio Singapore, we decided that since we still got time and since we’re in Sentosa Island, might as well not waste the opportunity to head down to the Beach area to check out the Song of the Sea performance. It’s held nightly at 7.45pm and 8.45pm rain or shine. Yup, even if it’s raining cats and dogs, the show will go on.

The tickets to the performance can be purchase at the ticketing counter below the Monorail station and you can head in and get the seat you want from as early as 6.30pm. People like me who wants the best spot to capture the best images of course headed in at that time and head straight for the middle. Crowd will start trickle in about 7.15pm and the rush to find a spot to seat can be seen about 7.30pm when the announcement for the show’s start time is made.

It’s amazing how they can turn little “fishing village” like this into a spectacle of lights when the show start. You know the show started when a bunch of kids (the performers) suddenly dash into the middle of the stage waving wildly at everyone. Kids will definitely enjoy the performance with it’s many cute light generated creatures and the few lights and water performances.

Generally, the kids did a good job entertaining the crowd and tried their level best to get the crowd to join in with the performance. Only thing that was annoying is one of girls, she looked like she’s either spastic or has a very low IQ. Maybe that’s just the character she’s portraying but it irritates the shit out of me as she constantly moves across waving her hands about wildly and bobbing her head from side to side. She is also the only performer on stage that doesn’t have a singing part.

A montage of the performance can be viewed below. As I shot it all through my point-and-shoot camera, don’t expect a HD quality as the highest my camera could record was 640×480.
