Sid’s Pub @ Bangsar South
My first introduction to Sid’s Pub since I got back to Malaysia a few months back was the one in Bukit Tunku when I went there to meet several friends for a drink and chat.
Since then, another group of friends brought me along to the outlet in TTDI (Taman Tun Dr. Ismail) which is nearer to home and then to the one at Bangsar South, which compared to the other two, is a further drive away for me. But I somehow prefer the environment at the Bangsar South outlet as there’s more familiar faces there compared to the other two outlets.
During the recent World Cup 2010 fever, the Bangsar South outlet was the place to go to, @BluredFrank kept the place open to public throughout the night even if you decide to walk in to catch the 2.30 AM match. Yup, there were several occasion where we were practically there from sun set to sun rise.
Other than the alcohol that’s available at Sid’s Pub (after all, that’s why it’s called a pub right?), they also serve a great selection of english meal at the place. One of my favorite is the Sid’s Burger – served with a portion of chips where you can choose a selection of pork, beef, lamb or chicken. And if you want extra kick, you can add on bacon or cheese or fried eggs at a RM2 per item. My combo whenever I order is always the Sid’s Pork Burger with EXTRA Bacon and fried Eggs. Never fails to leave me wanting for more each time I eat it.
And on the side, I always order the BBQ Pork Ribs – marinated pork ribs grilled to perfection. The portion look small cause it’s just finger food but they should think about serving Pork Ribs as a main dish. Which means bigger portion of ribs (in the form of a Half Rack) which would just make me go back for more.
Whenever the craving for a pint or two hits me and the craving for pork burgers/ribs, Sid’s the place you’ll find me. Unless you can introduce a place to me where they serve pints of stouts at reasonable pricing and pork!
