Shopping Adventure in Singapore’s shopping district

Those that knows me well enough knows that I seldom go shopping and even if I do, it’s normally cause the girlfriend wants to go. Well, it’s the same with every other guys out there too right?

Saw this Damsel with her Knight at the MRT station (why is the girl carrying the sword and shield and not the guy? Damn 9 sissy right the guy in the armour)

This time around, I could say that it’s the other way around. Now, my aim of the day was very simple, get down to town, get myself a pair of crocs (cause the one I had back in KL already is about time to be discarded) and get back home pronto!

OK, one bad thing I totally missed out on today was the Nike Human Run which was held at the very place I went. I totally missed it!! ARGH! My bloody phone’s reminder was reseted to 2000 and it totally didn’t remind me! ARGH!!!!!

All ready for the Adventure of the day!

OK, anyway, back to my little adventure in Singapore. Left Punggol at 11, we got to Bugis Junction at about 12ish and head straight for KFC. Yup, we’ve been craving for KFC for quite some time and decide to go for it as soon as we could find one. Josh524 joined us for lunch as well and spend some time chit chatting. From there, we took the MRT and head off to Velocity to look at some sports stuff but didn’t manage to get anything.

After walking about the whole of Velocity, we made our way via MRT to Vivo City and there, the whole adventure begins! First round around the place was spend on searching for some essential work related stuff, which we found and put into our budget. Then it was off to Crocs where we got ourselves some nice pair of crocs before I landed myself in Adidas. Now, here’s the interesting part, they are presently having this promotion where you just need to discard your old sports shoes and get a rebate of SGD50 for a certain range of shoes or SGD30 for the make of Adidas shoes but the minimal purchase amount must be SGD100.

These is what I brought from this shopping spree!

Found what I wanted, got the size I wanted and with a final goodbye to my trusty old Umbro shoes, I chuck it into the big box at the center of the shop (where they are collecting old shoes and for every shoes they collected, Adidas would donate the same amount to a charity home), paid for my new shoes and walk out of the shop a happy man. From there, we head over to the SGD2 shop where we got some essential stuff for the new place before heading off to catch STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS at Golden Village.

These Crocs are made for walking

We made our way back to Punggol at 9 and reach back about 45min later right smack at the place where we started in the morning. Oh yeah, I also got myself 2 pairs of Levi’s Jeans and a Levi’s t-shirt for SGD99.90. All in all, SGD500 was withdrawn from my bank account (which when converted is equavalent to a very painful burn in my bank account) and with lunch and dinner included, I still got home with some change. I believe if you calculate dollar for dollar and without any conversion, for the items I brought today, back in KL, you’d burn an even bigger hole in your pocket. I think, even after conversion, I’d still save more compared to buying these same stuff in KL.

Finally installed some games into the PSP, thanks to Josh524

Anyway, it’ll be a more quiet day on Monday before I make my way back to KL on Tuesday. That conclude my little adventure shopping in Singapore. Will I do it again? Well, my quota for this year and half of next year is maxed out in this trip so no more shopping for me!

Some Cosplay girls at COMEX ’08

A Final note, yesterday, went to Comex with HoVenessa and Josh524 and it was crazy! Didn’t take much photos cause you could barely raise your hands once you join the traffic as people are walking back to back without any space to breath! It’s crazy! But then, the price of goods offered at the venue is unbelievable. I saw tons of guys going in and coming out with Nikon’s new D700 and a huge grin on their faces, bloody jealous of them!
