Restoran Kepala Ikan Chan Sow Lin @ Chan Sow Lin

When my relatives dropped by from Ipoh for a visit, we decided to go for some nice meal and one of the place we’ve been wanting to go to was the Curry Fish head restaurant in Chan Sow Lin after my parents shower praises about it’s dishes.

Even though it was lunch time, the crowd hasn’t really trickled in to the restaurant so we manage to get a nice big table in the air conditioned part of the restaurant and our orders taken fairly quickly.

The 1st dish that arrived was the steamed free-range chicken. Unlike most that I’ve eaten before this was quite nice and easy to chew.

The Steamed Sauce Fish was next, the fish was fresh and the meat absorbed the sauce very nicely and can be stripped off it’s bone easily so it was suitable for kids to consume without the worry of them accidentally choking on bones.

The dish everyone except the kids has been waiting for came next. The Curry Fish Head. It wasn’t too spicy and the curry wasn’t too thick or watery. This was one of the few times I actually clean out the entire pot of curry fish head.

As there are kids with us, we had to order some dishes that would allow them to eat properly so a plate of scrambled eggs with prawns was served. If the eggs was ever alive, it will never live past 5minutes after it was placed onto the plate.

A typical lunch or dinner is never complete without at least 1 vegetable dish. We ordered Yau Mak but compared to the many yau mak I’ve ever eaten, this one was not fairly good. I guess the chef just had a bad day when it comes to preparing vegetables.
