President Star Charity 2009 and Coco Lee

Had an opportunity to work with the Mediacorp artistes at the just concluded President Star Charity 2009 event that was broadcasted Live on TV. Not sure how many of you caught the show, ain’t familiar with it myself as I’m not familiar with local TV scene. Nevertheless, the experience was fantastic.

The journey started yesterday when I stepped into the studio for the first time for rehearsal and briefing which lasted way way way into the night.

Today, prior to the show, the whole place was abuzzed with activities by noon and before we knew it, it’s SHOW TIME! So we got ourselves ready, had an early dinner (at 4pm!!!) and then got ready at our respective positions.

From the position I was at, the performance went on very well. The actors and actresses performed way above what they were expected to do and when the main attraction came on, all hell almost broke loose. Who I’m talking about? Coco Lee of course. Friendly girl and fun to converse with, can’t say the same with her minders though. They are … well… minders. I’ll just leave it at that.

Didn’t get to take much photos though throughout the whole thing as it was hectic and crazy behind the scene. The show ended about 5min before 10pm and everyone on the stage was then ushered out to the foyer area to greet the President and to take photo with him.

Someone came up to me and ask me, why didn’t I take any photo with him? After all, he’s the PRESIDENT! Without missing a beat, I replied “He’s not my President, I wouldn’t know who he is if I bump into him on the street. So why should I take photo of him or want to take photo with him?”

The rest of the night was just busy with food, saying thank you to all the people for the experience I’ve had this weekend and then made my way out of the place. It was a long night and it’s time to rest my aching body.
