MOVIE REVIEW: Bolt

Bolt the Super Dog! Woof Woof… It’s a story of a dog who is convinced that his role as a super dog is reality. When he is ripped from his world of fantasy, and action by his own doing. His own obsession with his owner and keeping her protected from the green eyed man of the television show he works on completely absorbs his life. This takes him to the point of no return when he believes that she has been kidnapped, and he accidentally gets packaged and shipped to New York city in pursuit of his owner.

This is when the story unfolds, and he goes through a transitional period where he learns that he is as super as every other dog. His disbelief of his abilities being non existent fuels a lot of different emotional changes, and eventually comes to a reality of who he really is. This all culminates when he finds his owner and reunites with her in the action packed climax of the movie.

If you like Animation, you’d love this movie. If you could catch it on 3D, do watch it on 3D, it’s worth the money. Am not sure if it’ll be shown in 3D in Malaysia or not though as not all cinemas is installed with the 3D projector.

The real ‘drama’ of the movie really starts about 30minutes into the movie when Bolt got shipped out of the studio. How the dog never knew that there’s camera crew nearby his entire life really defy logic but then, this is a cartoon. Anyway, let’s forget logic here and truly enjoy the movie. Really nice especially the parts where a cat need to teach Bolt to be a real dog and how a hamster teaches the cat about humanity.

Was the movie good at the end of the day? A huge Yes. Especially for animation fans!

Will I watch it again and again? YES…. one of the must have for my DVD Collection.

Would I recommend this movie to anyone? Yes!
