Lojing Kids in Black & White

This is a continuation of the series of Black & White photos I took at Lojing when I was there to document the life of the Orang Asli there. In this series, the focus is the kids that came out to play when I was there.

They started off being very shy, hiding and all as they are not sure who we are or what we were doing there. But they soon warmed up to our presence especially after I showed them some of the photos I took.

The above shot was taken when the two kids decide to sit next to me and see what I was up to. The one on the left finally succumbed to his camwhoring instinct and constantly try to get my attention to take his photos after that. The shot below was done when the boy and his sister was wandering around looking for their parents.

The girl was quite cute, she was shy when I say I want to take a picture of her, but when i put my camera away, she’d get near me trying to get me to use the camera.

This young lady was very shy, clinging on to her mom and not letting go when we went around saying hello. The mother encouraged her to stand there and let me take a picture but she ended up crying instead and want to cling on to her mom.

This photo below was shared some time back, it’s one of my favorite photo so I thought I’d just share it here again.

This concludes my portrait journey that I had in Lojing. Hope you enjoy the photos and do feel free to let me know what you think of them.

What wonderful photos! I really like the last 2 close-ups. There’s just that special something in their eyes that makes me go “…whoa”.
