Recently Mattel Malaysia launched these freaky little plush toys that can sing. They are called the Sing-A-Ma-Jigs. Made suitable for children, teenagers and adults (but I don’t find it suitable though). These Jigs comes in a series of 12 with more varieties planning to invade our shores to add more fun and excitement to the collection.
These multi-award winning little plush toys are famously known in other regions for their colorful outlook, cute sounds, singing their own song and the ability to harmonize and sing choruses together. The four that we have currently sings their own tunes, for example, the Yellow Jig sings Home On The Range, the Red sings Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone, the Blue one sings When The Saints go Marching In and the Pink goes Skip To My Lou.
Pressing their hands also trigger other modes ranging from jibber jabbering and harmonizing to sing with the other Jigs. Getting Freaky so far? I scared they might just come alive like the Toy Story characters and start terrorizing our homes when we are not around. Or remember the Mogwais? Gizmo? doesn’t ring a bell? The Movie Gremlins? I wonder if gremlins will pop out of these Sing-A-Ma-Jigs if I pour water on them. OK If you seriously think I’m planning to do that, either you know me too well or you must be crazy. These toys are quite cute in their own ways. I do wonder if I can take out the voice box and insert my own audio clips into it. If we never try, we’ll never know. Right? They are currently available at your nearest toy stores and you can use them to perform in a Quartet (like the video below) or in a Party if you get all 12 of them, practice (you can download the lyrics online) and get a Sing-A-Ma-Jig Orchestra going. Here’s my take on the 4 Sing-A-Ma-Jigs I got, ain’t the best in the world and I know I won’t win any Grammy for the arrangement but heck, it’s all for a good laugh.
