Met with (L-R) Ignazio Boschetto (16), Gianluca Ginoble (16) and Piero Barone (17), the 3 lads that form the group Il Volo. Hail from the land of pasta, they were in KL for a showcase and we got a chance to talk to them (OK fine, Linora and Mynn Lee did all the talking as they are more talkative than me).
The three pop-opera singers started their career in 2009, when they met on the second edition of the Italian RAI TV music competition show Ti lascio una canzone, held in Sanremo where Gianluca Ginoble won the competition, singing Andrea Bocelli’s “Il mare calmo della sera”. During the competition, the 3 singers were chosen to perform as a trio the Neapolitan evergreen “‘O Sole Mio”. After the competition, they continued to perform together under the names The Tryo, Il Trio, and finally Il Volo. Here’s a video of the conversation we had.
If you’ve no idea what they sing, here they are performing Il Mondo. A Teaser of what to expect at the Showcase.
Here’s one of the most recent clip of them performing at American Idol 2011 singing ‘O Sole Mio.
And final 1 to keep you excited, performing You Raise Me Up with The Priests.
The boys will be performing at the Bentley Music Auditorium on the 30th of July! So make sure you don’t miss out on this chance to watch these 3 talented boys perform. Sadly, I won’t be there but will definitely post up any updates, photos and videos when I get them from Linora and Mynn who will represent me at the showcase.
