In the past few months, my own website has come to a crawl instead of getting regular updates on a daily basis. I guess one of the main factor of that happening is because of my own business. A lot of people do ask me on a regular basis on what do I actually do as they always see me online. In fact, almost on a 24/7 basis. Well, I’d love to say because I’m a robot but that’s not true. I’m as human as most humans can be.
Just a bit on what I do for a living, especially to those of you who are curious. I’m a photographer by trade. Yes, I earn a living by taking photos of people and objects (and occasionally contributes articles to coincide with those images to magazines). Aside from that, I’m also a consultant when it comes to events where I help my clients in planning out their events and executing them. Mostly small stuff like corporate dinners/functions/roadshows.
But that doesn’t really affect me in posting stuff in here. I guess the biggest factor is the Social Media stuff that I do on a daily basis. Yup, I get paid to be online, updating my clients pages, twitter feeds and their own websites with contents that is necessary to their respective business. And because I’ve to write so much for them, I start to neglect my own site. Not that I write a lot in the first place as it’s mostly a site for me to showcase my photography work and events that I attends.
But occasionally, I do get inspired to write but most of it now goes to those websites instead. Contributions to magazines have now slowed down but focus on those websites and Social Media contents is a tad taxing.
Even though I don’t compose smart stuff in here to draw the crowd, but I do try,… occasionally. I don’t expect mikeyip.com to make me a lot of money. I leave the money making stuff to the ones that actually pays me and keep me going on a daily basis.
But nevertheless, I will try to put more effort into this site for 2013. It’s already half way through the month of February and with the motorsports calendar opening up with competitions starting soon. I’ll definitely have more contents to share in here along with food reviews (which I’ve still have tons backlogged to the extend, some of those places I’ve yet to review has since closed down or moved!) and of course, not forgetting, my photography portfolio that I share in here aside from my facebook page (do click LIKE on the right column!).
Until the next posting though, just sharing my writer’s block issue here. IF there’s anyone who feels they’d like to contribute some worthwhile contents to here, do let me know too!
