1st week with the Philips AquaTouch AT940

AT940

Before you read on, have you click on the VOTE button? IF not, CLICK NOW!!!! Done? Thank You! Why I need you to click on VOTE? I’m a total mess, I need a make-over! Every vote you put in helps me one step closer to winning the Make-Over. Maybe they will suck out all those fats from my belly, turn me muscular without the need of going to the gym, make my face look like Brat Pitt. I don’t know what it’ll be but no harm trying to win it right? So will you help me?

Anyway, back to the story that I was meaning to tell… long long time ago (9 days ago), I was handed the AT940 to have a go as I’ve been complaining that my older one is dying on me and didn’t really give me much feel good experience as it’s not giving me that nice clean shave that I need, especially when I’m on the move and have a last minute shave in the car before a meeting or an event.

After unboxing it, I felt like from then on, that I’m cheating on my old shaver with the new. What more coupled with the Shaving Blade that I also uses! It’s like cheating and at the same time, having a 3some! If only it’s as good as it sounds though.

Since the first day I uses the AT940, we were like brand new lovers, never far apart, doing it in the dry, in the shower, in front of the mirror, in the car while it’s stationary and while I’ve driving. Anywhere you can think of, you name it, I’ve done it there.

Now, initially, there are comprehension when it comes to the Electric Shaver, simply because my older ones can’t perform to the level I want it to, always dry and more times than not, it just left me hanging not able to finish the job. With the AT940, I started off giving it a try when dry. Surprisingly, glides through without much apprehension and tension and it does give me a better finishing than the old one.

A day later, I decide to get it wet and with the help of some gel, get it to perform while drenched. Totally a different experience from when done dry. Smooth gliding and surprisingly very relaxed, I wasn’t trying to rush thing in the first place but still, it left me with a cleaner finish than in the dry. Maybe I was doing it wrong the first time around? Cleaning up was a sinch! Just get the head in some running water, wiggle it a bit and all the goo and excess just goes right off. Towel wrap and it’s all dry ready for the next round of action! Let’s see what this coming week will bring as I’ll try to leave my fur a bit longer before I take the plunge. Let’s give it a tougher challenge.

One last thing before I end this post, a reader commented that the AT940 I was using is pretty expensive. Well, there’s 2 other models that was launched as well in the AquaTouch Series. There’s the AT750 retailing at RM199 and the AT890 retailing at RM259. Hope this information helps especially to those who wants to do some research before plunging into the world of electric shaving.
