Have you McValue lunched this week?
If you haven’t, that’s fantastic news.
Here’s some videos before I continue my story.
You can read more about the Super Size Me here.
Here’s another video about McDonald’s meal.
OK, enough with the youtube videos, here’s my very lasting memory of having a McValue lunch meal, it was at McDonald at SS2′s McDonald about 6 or 7 years ago. It was one of the worst experience of my life! I went and brought my order, it was the Filet-O-Fish set. Found myself a seat at one of their tables upstairs and place my food on a table.
Everything’s still in it’s proper place, the drink had not been touched, the food had not been touched and i still had some change on the tray as they gave me the change only after I picked up the tray. As I was just near the wash basin and there’s no other people around aside from 1 of their staff at that floor, I decided to just walk over and wash my hands before I eat. This is less than 6 – 7 strides away. I turned around, I saw the tray missing from where I left it and I saw the staff emptying the tray.
Of course the first thing I did was to confront him and ask him why he threw away my food and took my money even before I ate it. He just brushed it aside and say that he just emptied a tray that had eaten food and not food just purchased. Hello, there’s only myself on that floor that’s eating, who else was there? I just got up and didn’t even touch the food yet. Proceeded to ask for the manager of the shift and explained to him. He just look at me and said that the staff is just doing his job and that I shouldn’t just accused him of what he did.
I took him to the counter staff and request for her to explained to him when I purchased my set meal and she told him that I brought the meal less than 5minutes ago. I even told him to open the rubbish bin to look inside as I’m sure we’ll be able to find the meal still in it’s packaging unopened. He refused and even told me to leave so as not to create a scene. HELLO! YOU THREW AWAY MY FOOD AND ACCUSED ME OF CREATING A SCENE? They didn’t even bother to check! What kind of service you call that? Since then, despite what people say, I know for sure McDonald’s service is terrible. So would I go and get myself a McValue lunch this week? Definitely not, I rather go and have a more enjoyable time eating KFC.
Here’s another thing you should know about the McValue Lunch thing, if you compared the burgers in McValue lunch to a normal set, it’s SMALLER!

yup. i agree with u regarding the size of the burgers. they seemed to have shrank a lot. the only thing that i’d eat in mcd these days is its spicy fried chicken. that’s the only thing that stil remains the same size.

you don’t hv a shoutbox/cbox?? hehe…
yup… i agree.. some ppl just jump into conclusion…
and about your McD experience… maybe you should write in a complain to the company… the service you had that day was not good.. you could even write in to Persatuan Pengguna Malaysia… there’s always consumer’s rights! we should not be treated this way.. i thought the manager should hv investigate this matter and replace the set meal…

@ai-ling: DITTO! See, people do realize the different in size.
@shinyin: well, it’s too late for that, it’s some time back but it’s enough for me to not want to step into McD if I can help it. I never step into SS2′s McD for 6 years after that incident. Only going cause didn’t have a choice wanting to have a late night supper with friends after clubbing.

@vincent: Now only you’re worried?
@coco: Yah, they messing with the wrong person when it comes to food. I take my food very seriously.
@Shu Fen: In Malaysia. Don’t compare the service between the two country, very different even in speed.
@joshuaongys: Size does matter
@shing: yup. very much smaller
@yienyien: LOL. Scared or not after watching the video?
@Jasper & spectre: Yup, one experience that will forever haunt me whenever I look at the McDonald sign.
@KY: I quote what someone told me before when I told them when I said such a similar no. when it comes to work. “UNCLE!!”

Horrible experience man…throwing away uneaten food is an unforgivable sin. Somemore throw away someone else’s uneaten and paid-for food. If this happens to me, I will remember their name and faces for the rest of my life.

That is crazy. They all deserve to be fired.
McD’s and other fast food restaurants in the US require patrons to empty the trays themselves. I myself do this still even after I’m back here in Malaysia. That way no staff would mistakenly empty someone’s tray before he/she is done with the food.
Seriously, we should adopt the system as well. McD already adopted the ‘get your own sauce from the sauce station’ and did away with the packets of sauce. it’s time for the ‘empty your own tray’ to creep into the system and in some ways reduce staffing costs for malaysian mcD franchises.

@KH: Yeah, I still remember how that waiter looks, definitely will know him when i see him. Cannot escape.
@IHSAN: well, alot of places encourage the customers to do that, but in Malaysia, the mentality is that if that guy is being hired to clean up after me, why should I do it. And this is what happened most of the time.
