H-Factor @ Penang

It was 7am on the Saturday morning when ShaolinTiger and I reached HELP College to meet up with the rest of the crew heading off to Penang with us. Why the journey? It’s cause we’re heading up north to meet up with Hannah Tan and the rest of the people for the H-Factor’s installment in Penang. My company, Events Xpert is involved in this as the official videographer.

Reached G Hotel about 12pm and got ourselves checked in before we head off for a quick lunch and briefing on the day’s agenda. With the H-Factor workshop happening on Sunday, the team including the speakers is taking every opportunity possible to do as much publicity as we could and the venue of choice was the Queensbay Mall on the other side of the island.

Dinner only appeared at 9.30pm when we head back to the hotel after Queensbay, initial plan was to go to the famous stalls along Gurney drive but heck, feeling tired, I wasn’t in the mood to walk all the way to the edge of Gurney drive just for food. It was off to G Cafe for dinner or rather what’s left of dinner before taking a rest. At midnight, headed down to the Ballroom to have a run through on the next day’s activities and where I should be positioned before hitting the sack.

The next morning, a quick breakfast and a quick dash was made to the 2nd floor ballroom for the workshop. The crowd build up as time draws near before the entrance opens and like packs of hungry wolves, the crowd rushed into the hall trying to get their best seat as near to the stage as possible. If only they do the same when they were at school. LOL

8 Speakers in total came on to talk to these students about what they had to endure to succeed in their chosen field and the type of rewards they reap now after spending all those time working and not giving up for it. You could feel the energy in the room as the crowd don’t even want to go off for their lunch and tea but rather sit through it all to hear what these 9 speakers have to say.

By 6pm, it was all over. The workshop had ended and the crowd just rush forward hoping to get some photos with their favorite personality. AS for myself, i start to pack and leave the venue as fast as I could so as not to have any of these fellows trample onto the gears.  A quick debrief and a quick dinner at G Cafe later, we were off on our way back to KL. It was a tiring weekend but it was good stuff. Enjoyed myself, made some new friends and learn something new. Next stop, Johor!
