H-Factor @ Johor

H-Factor finally finished with Johor, unlike the Penang trip, this one was a tad more relaxing as everyone knows what they have to do and what needs to be done.

ShaolinTiger and KimberlyCun can to pick me up at 8am on Saturday before the whole entourage left for Johor Bharu on a bus. It was fantastic as I don’t have to drive but sit back and relax. Tried to sleep but it ain’t easy.

Arrived to The Zon Regency at about 1ish and proceed to checking in. Again, bunking with ST for this trip. At 2, we met up with Jessica and Leonard to go off for lunch (which will appear in another post about food!) with the rest of the team. Only to found out that those guys walked so far that we end up only a stone throw away from our destination (The MSC Cyberport).

3pm, left the restaurant for the Cyberport and unload all the stuff into the venue. The bus, due to it’s height was unable to drive into the driveway so we have to get off on the main road and walk in. Good for digestion IMHO. The set-up was done for the rest of the day until evening comes. Thanks to Ganesh of MOL and Tengku, we were invited for a nice hearty dinner at a restaurant in Danga Bay. If you were curious about what we ate, you’d just have to wait for the next post to come. The rest of the night was just spend hanging out with the crew until bed time, some of the crew had to study too as they actually took time out from their revision to help out with examination on the Monday.

Crew call was 7.30, I was up by 6am, definitely sure that ST was irritated with me moving all over the room unplugging my camera from it’s charger, packing my stuff and heading out of the room. Had a nice breakfast (no photos sadly) with the crew before we head off to the venue at 7.30am.

A few surprises hit us throughout the day but nevertheless, I’d say that this workshop was nicely done, the speakers was on form, David Lai was the star of the day and everyone had a good time. The guys who paid really got their money worth as they threw questions to the speakers at any chances they get to milk the speakers of their experiences.

5pm, show’s finally over, the guests left, the crew start to unpack for the next location and the speakers head into the green room to hang out, relax and camwhore a bit. The crew joined in of course about 6pm after everyone’s unpacked and ready to leave.

Those that came with the bus left for KL immediately and those of us that’s still around basically went back to the hotel, freshen up and head out for a nice ikan bakar session thanks to Ganesh. Such a great host cause he took us everywhere to eat. Just imagine, the 12 of us, each with a big plate of ikan bakar per person, add that one along with some otak otak and loads of other food ordered along the way. Everyone had their fill, I knew whatever weight I try to lose was gained back that night itself. By 10, I said my good byes to the rest of the team and left for the Singapore Causeway. The rest of the guys? Continued their binging at the Mee Rebus stall that we went to for lunch the previous day.

Definitely looking forward to Kota Kinabalu where I was told, more food session is to be expected!

Hannah Tan is so pretty…. I’m jealous of you that you can take picture with her. :(

  • [...] As most of you would have known by now that I was down in Johor over the weekend recently. Unlike the Penang trip where we are housed within the hotel most of the time, we get to move about abit for this trip. Unlike the previous one where we can’t go too far, this time around, we get to move about abit. If you didn’t know, read my previous post about it here. [...]
