Guided Tour around Bali Part 1 of 3
It was the New Year, just 4 days into 2010 and we were on the way to the Airport to catch a flight to this little island west of Malaysia. Initially, I was supposed to head over somewhere else for a job but since that was canceled, here we are, off to a nice getaway before the start of the 2010 rat race (for myself).

We got into the AirAsia’s flight to Bali and landed at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport at around 1pm. From there, we head over to Haven Hotel where we checked in, relaxed and get ready to head over to our 1st tour.

It was the Uluwatu Temple, build since the 16th Century by the Indian Priest from India and is one important and magnificent ancient monument for the Balinese people.

Located at 250feets above sea level, it’s located on the southern point of Pura Luhur where supposedly, we can catch a beautiful sunset. Sadly, it was very cloudy on the day we got there so all I manage is some of the following shots.

There is also a lot of monkeys around which StrippedSteph totally did not like. We spend about an hour hanging out in that area before the rest of the tour rejoined us and we head off to Jimbaran Beach for some BBQ Set Seafood dinner.

Truthfully, the dinner was just ok, the unique thing is, there was some cultural performance that kept the audience entertained. Here’s a video of the performance from that night.
Day 1 ended with us heading back to the hotel for a good night’s rest as the next day’s a long full day of activities planned out by the tour guide. For that, you can read about it in the next posting.
