Fruit Rojak & Tau Foo Fah @ Damansara Jaya

How many of you heard of the food court in front of Atria and the famous fruits Rojak stall that’s practically there every day? I’m sure majority of the people who grew up in Damansara Jaya like me would have eaten the rojak from there before or heard of the place before.

This uncle has been around for quite some time, even during my school days I’ve been patronizing his stall after school on my way to Pelangi (won’t tell you what place that is, those of you that’s familiar with the area back in the early 90s would know).

Located on a vacant parking space just in front of the Atria main entrance (the entrance in front of KFC is actually the side entrance), it’s flanked by the Tau Foo Fah seller that sells piping hot tau foo fah to anyone who visits the place. One thing to note, if you intend to eat at the food court behind the two stalls, you’re not allowed to eat the Tau Foo Fah or the Soya Bean milk at the food court unless you want to trigger the wrath of the in-house drink seller.

I normally would top the fruit rojak purchase off with a bowl of Tau Foo Fah and boy, this combination can sure keep me full until dinner time (if I’m eating it for lunch).

Here’s a tip if you’re looking at take away the fruit Rojak and Tau Foo Fah or Soya Bean milk and don’t want to park your car. Drive towards them, wind down the window and just let them know what you want. Drive off and make a big turn back towards them (the area is now one way street for those of you who hasn’t been to Damansara Jaya for awhile), by the time you reach back to the spot where you place your orders, the fruit rojak and the soya bean milk/Tau Foo Fah is ready for you. Just Pay and move on so that the car behind you can drive up to take their food too.

IMHO, this is the best home grown drive-through fast food joint in town, fast service, efficient and you can see how they prepare the food too!

Boy, just writing this post makes me crave for the Fruit Rojak and Tau Foo Fah again.
