Father’s Day @ LaLa Chong Seafood Restaurant
It was a combo celebration whenever it comes to this time of the month in June. My dad’s birthday is very near Father’s Day and so it’s always a Double Celebration whenever we celebrate his birthday as we’ll celebrate Father’s Day as well.

The restaurant of choice was Lala Chong Seafood Restaurant in Ara Damansara, just further down from the Pantai Seafood Restaurant. This is their new outlet aside from the one at Kampung Subang near the Old Airport Road, it was packed with people by the time we reach and we were slightly worried as we didn’t make any reservations. So it’s always a good idea if you want to go somewhere for some form of celebrations to always make reservations before heading there, even if there’s not many people in that restaurant.

Satay Ayam was the first dish that arrives as the monsters was hungry and wanted something to munch on while the main dishes was still being ordered. It’s no Kajang styled satay but the satay was nicely prepared with just the right amount of fats.

Siong Tong LaLa was the first to arrive and it’s the restaurant’s signature dish, that’s why the place is known as Lala Chong. Prepared with a little rice wine, it’s tasty enough that even a person like me who don’t really fancy lala also ate some.

Three Cup Chicken was the next one and is supposed to be one of the more popular dishes in the restaurant. The chicken was lightly spiced so even children can eat it.

Butter Crab was served with steamed bun. We had a choice of a few varieties of style but decide to go for the butter crab and we didn’t regret choosing it, the sauce was prepared perfectly and not too buttery.

Deep Fried Calamari was ordered for the monsters to enjoy but maybe it’s due to the number of customers they had to serve, the calamari was served slightly cold and wasn’t as crunchy as some of the other places we ate at. So yeah, it’s the one dish that was left unfinished when we left.

Steamed Fish was the last of the dishes we ordered. Do check on the type of fishes they have as there’s quite a few varieties and most of it is quite fresh. You can select the ones you want from the fish tanks if you are more picky. Steamed nicely with the flesh easily peeled off when scooped with a spoon.
All in all, it’s just a matter of what we order or the portion we order as the price was reasonable and is cheaper than Pantai Seafood Restaurant for the similar dishes. Definitely worth checking out again in the near future.
