Creating Art out of Photography?

These days, as you can see on my blog, I’ve been actively going around taking photos, basically of anything and everything that caught my attention.

Some of them nice, some of them not, some of them overly done, some of them… well, you get the idea. These are two photos I took recently, I kind of like it but the original was just a tad too …. plain for me. So I started playing around with them using photoshop and photomatix pro.

Some result come out to be liked by everyone, some isn’t. Well, these, I kind of like, somehow giving me that artsy, watercolor painting look. I’m still quite new to the idea of HDR and manipulation using photoshop. Still learning through what I can find on youtube and through discussion. I see myself sometimes when hitting that right note, get on a roll and sometimes, hitting the bad notes and everything that went through PP/DI came out looking worst than before it goes in.

Looking at it, landscape photography to me still have a long way to go. Every day is a new experience for me. Looking at all those amazing photos on Flickr. I wonder when I’ll be able to reach the level where the photos I produce can be proudly displayed? If you can’t see the photos clearly, click on the images and you’d be transported to the bigger files.

I think both of these photos are beautiful. The more pictures you take, the better you will get at seeing new things – new ways to frame a photo, new angles to take the photos from, placement of the focal points, etc.
