World Cup Finals: Spain vs Holland Highlights

Spain was crowned the World Cup 2010 Champions, the 1st time they have won this prestigious tournament and effectively claim the top spot in the FIFA ranking as the no. 1 team in the world.

Of Badminton and of Pasar Malam

It’s been quite a long while since I last played Badminton, so long so that i have yet to get used to the new point system that is employed at the court. It has been a fun outing of sort being dragged out of the house by a bunch of friends I made in the Salsa Social Scene. Good friends they’ve become since the day I started salsa again and once again, they’ve proven why I cherish this friendship I’ve come to have.

They know that I haven’t been myself feeling all gloomy and all for the past week and a half and so they drag me along for a few game of badminton to help me let go of the frustration that has been building up inside of me. Well, it sort of work as I spend a lot of time smashing the shuttle towards the opponent’s body each time I attack. It does help in a way.

The one distraction of the game was the new scoring system though as we are counting to 21 and everyone seems to be keeping their own scoring and when it comes to the double’s games, it was a bit of a mess but it was all for a good laugh. And like all sports, we also have a casualty of war. So it was all serious business and not just play play.

After the game, it was off to the pasar malam that was just around the corner for some dinner and just to check out what’s in store in the area. It was nice as it has been a long time since I last step foot into the Pasar Malam. By the time we got there though, most of the stalls were starting to close so we only manage to get some fruits to share among everyone.

Definitely would love to join them again when they organize the next badminton session as it’s a good form of work-out apart from the usual salsa dancing I do. And if it’s an activity that is done often enough, then it’ll be good to also invest in a good badminton racket. Can any of you suggest any good, light rackets? As you can tell, i’ve been out of touch with this sports and I’ve no idea what are the good rackets out there these days.

Photos from the Malaysian F1 GP 2010

The Malaysian GP for the 2010 season is up and it’s going to be a very wet affair from what we could see from the qualifier. With a handful of upsets with Button and both the Ferrari drivers couldn’t manage a good time in Q1. The race will look to be an exciting one with the teams looking at ways to overcome their qualifying disappointment to come up tops.

It’s all down to the race strategies employ by each time and I’ll definitely be looking forward to it. Here’s how the top 10 drivers line up look like prior to the race.

Mark Webber , Team Red Bull (1:49.327) on pole.

Nico Rosberg, Mercedes Grand Prix (1:50.673) came in 2nd.

Sebastian Vettel, Team Red Bull (1:50.789) was 3rd and sits nicely behind Webber.

Adrian Sutil, Force India F1 (1:50.914) was 4th and Nico Hulkenberg, Williams F1 (1:51.001) is in 5th.

Robert Kubica, Renault (1:51.051) is 6th with Ruben Barrichello, Williams (1:51.511), the Brazilian Rain Master is 7th.

Michael Schumacher, Mercedes Grand Prix (1:51.717) never fail to give some excitement in the qualifying by making it to the 10th spot in Q2 and the chalk up the 8th spot while Kamui Kobayashi, Sauber (1:51.767) takes up the 9th spot. Vitantonio Liuzzi, Force India F1 (1:52.254) completes the top 10 with the final spot.

Lotus F1′s Heikki Kovalainen did fantastic to clock 1:52.270 and bring the 1Malaysia team into the 15th spot.

Jenson Button, the current World Champion only managed a lowly 17th after spinning out in Q1 and but managed to chalk up a good time before sitting out in Q2.

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa didn’t do well as they only managed to chalked up 19th and 21st spot respectively with Lewis Hamilton between them at 20th.

I predicted that it’s going to be a very wet race tonight as the flag off will be at 4pm Malaysian time. For the rest of the photos, you can check out the photos I’ve taken on my flickr account here.

Congratulations to the winners of the signed Nico Rosberg caps. The Race Weekend is here and what better way to start off the weekend postings with photos from the Malaysian GP right? F1 was in town, it was crazy, I didn’t go for any of them compared to last year but one place I definitely went to was the Sepang F1 track.

The RMAF’s MiG-29N came out to do some aerial display during the practice sessions to entertain the crowd. For those of us who had witnessed the might of the American and the British Aerial team, this was nothing in comparison but the feeling of being proud is there watching these pilots in their MiG-29N doing their hardest, pulling huge Gs to entertain the audience at the Sepang F1 Circuit.

For those of you who’s heading to the F1 circuit to catch the qualifiers and the actual race. Do carpool or you can expect a tough time getting out after the race. There are some new changes to the parking system heading to the circuit so do ensure you know where you are going or expect a long long walk. I believe the organizers did some preparation to provide shuttle services from the various parking lots scattered across the various parts around the circuit to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. So do make full use of those services rather than be stuck in an hour long traffic congestion just to get out from the F1 area onto the surrounding roads.

For me, I’ll be watching the race from the comfort of my own home. After all, the weather will change throughout the day and there will definitely be rain. In Malaysia, Rain = Traffic Congestion of the highest order. I love to watch the race but I ain’t going to be stuck in a traffic jam that will waste an hour of my life just getting out of the parking lots.

A video to share ahead of the Manchester United vs Liverpool match tonight. Will try to post up a Live Streaming channel of the match here for fans who doesn’t have access to watch the match-up on TV.

Ryan Giggs returns to the Manchester United squad for the Barclays Premier League clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford. Nemanja Vidic will be hoping to stay on the pitch after being sent off the last three times he has faced Liverpool but United need to arrest a similarly lengthy losing run if they are to retain top spot. Wayne Rooney will be looking to add more goals to the 25 he already had this season. This is going to be an interesting battle leading up to the end of the season, both Arsenal and Chelsea will be looking at Liverpool to do them a favor by stopping Man Utd in their run and Sir Alex Ferguson will be looking at showing the rest of the League why Man Utd deserves to be Champions. For those of you who missed the 2nd leg of the Champions League where Man Utd via Wayne Rooney demolished AC Milan. Here’s the highlights of that game. Watch until the end for David Beckham’s interview about the match and his prediction for Man Utd’s progress in the Champion’s League.

It was an awesome display by Wayne Rooney and Park Ji Sung really is doing Asia proud with his ever impressive form in United colors. In 8 days, Man Utd will be entertaining Liverpool at the Theater of Dreams and definitely looking at Wayne Rooney to continue with his impressive form, Hargreaves is looking to be fit by then and Ryan Giggs will definitely be looking at making a start in that match.
