Apple & Job launched the iPad

After all the hype and the suspense leading up to yesterday night (Malaysia time), Apple finally launched their very own Tablet PC. Aptly named the iPad, it’s what most netizens would call an enlarged version of the iPod Touch/iPhone.

For people like myself who spend a lot of time online using their iPhone, this would be a tempting new ‘toy’ to play with. After all, it comes with a bigger screen meaning you can read/view things without constantly scrolling left and right to read texts on websites. The iPad will also be giving Amazon’s Kindle DX a run for it’s money as the iPad is able to give readers the chance to view materials in full color compared to the Kindle’s non-color, limited function device. The 16GB model is only USD$10 more than the USD$489 kindle too! (more…)

New iPhone to replace the 3Gs?

According to some news source / rumours from around the web, a new iPhone hardware model is being tested and Apple’s interest in updating the handset’s built-in Maps application have been revealed.

A Handset identifier as ‘iPhone 3,1′ was tracked by PinchMedia in its application iBART for San Fran’s public transportation, said the Apple Insider. According to MacRumors, iPhone 3,1 appeared in its usage logs last month.

The reference could signify a new iPhone model with substantial hardware changes, since Apple only changes the first number in a product’s identifier string when it receives a significant upgrade.

The current iPhone 3Gs carries the identifier iPhone 2,1 while the original iPhone was identified as iPhone 1,1. the 3G model carries the identifier iPhone 1,2. (more…)

Installing iPhone Apps

I’m posting this cause I was asked by not one, not two but quite a number of new iPhone users about how to install stuff into their iPhone. And so, the not so Tech Savvy person occasionally asked, how the heck do we install apps and games into the iPhone? Need to pay ah? Which Website to go? Well, hopefully this will help answer your questions.

Cool Jedi pic from Gizmodo :)

Well, if your phone’s jailbroken and you want to install free or paid apps without paying for it, you can give it a try with this helpful tip by Gizmodo. If you’re new iPhone users with phones purchased from an official iPhone dealer or Telco like Singtel (for Singapore) or Maxis (for Malaysia). You can just go straight into the App Store button on your iPhone and shop away. Look for the icon on the first page of your iPhone. (more…)
