Asahi Super Dry joins Carlsberg Malaysia’s Line of Premium Beers

Recently attended the launch of the launch of Asahi Super Dry draught by Carlsberg Malaysia – an extension to the existing bottle and can packaging which will be brewed locally by Carlsberg Malaysia at its brewery in Shah Alam, and to be made available on tap at selected trendy bars, concept restaurants and high-end eateries nationwide.

Soren Ravn, MD of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd said that “Malaysian’s can now enjoy Asahi Super Dry using Karakuchi, a secretly guarded Japanese brewing style, that has not only captured the taste buds of premium beer drinkers the world over but that has also set the gold standard in Japanese bewing.” (more…)

Blackberry Bold 9790 & Curve 9380 Launched in Malaysia

RIM finally brought the Blackberry Bold 9790 and the Curve 9380 into Malaysian Soil with a launch party held at Lust in Bukit Bintang recently. For more details about the phones, you can read it all here. Now in that posting, I can only tell you that the phone was launched but can’t tell you much about it after that. Well, during the launch, I got a chance to play with the phones on display and I must say that the Bold 9790 would be suitable if you are a girl and looking for something smaller than the Bold 9900. For me, it felt very small, like the old Curve. The keypads are small and whenever I tried to type, I end up pressing down on 4 different keys instead of the one I intended.

Hosted by Jojo Struys, the event was launched by RIM Country Director, Muthu Annamali with him personally introducing the 2 models that was made available at this launch as well as surprising the attendees with a buy 1 get the 2nd one at 50% off promotion during the launch as well as during the PC Fair. Which is quite attractive, especially to those who wants to make some money selling the phones. After all, you pay for 1 1/2 phones and when sell both phones, able to sell and make a profit off both phones at the full price or even at slightly cheaper than the price Brightstar set for the local market. Kings & Queen of Comedy Asia 2

On Friday, managed to catch the Kings & Queen of Comedy Asia 2 with Sheela and Louise. This year’s line-up is fantastic, with the likes of Vivek Mahbubani, Paul Ogata, Harith Iskandar and Sugar Sammy. The host of the night is none other than Joanne Kam Poh Poh and it was happening at the Planery Hall in KLCC.

The show started at 9pm after everyone finally made their way into the hall and found their seats, we were seated quite near to the stage so there’s no need for us to strain ourselves trying to look at the comedians. The show kicked off with a musical number by Joanne Kam and her divas before the Queen goes on with her usual naughty jokes. (more…)

Photos of Girls at the M-iFW 2011 Pre-Launch Party

he Malaysia International Fashion Week (MIFW) is the definitive fashion event in Malaysia. It is a highly visible platform where both established and up-and-coming local designers are invited to showcase their talents. This year, it’s going to be held at the Zebra Square from the 21st to 27th of November.

The shows and gala nights of the MIFW attract an A-list group comprising royalties, corporate moguls and personalities, socialites and celebrities. This was proven true during the M-iFW 2011 Pre-launch Party held at the Zeta Bar in KL Hilton, the who’s who of Malaysia’s fashion world showed up and had a blast!
