P. Ramlee The Musical

Thanks to Chedd, the actor cast as Sukardi (P.Ramlee’s childhood friend). I got myself 2 tickets to catch P. Ramlee the musical.

Chedd aka Sukardi

At 8.30pm, the crew of the show start calling for all audience to get into the theater and as I made my way there. I was stopped at the entrance and asked me to place my gears into the locker allocated as they won’t allow me to bring it in. I was like… WT…………………..

Anyway, not knowing to the bouncers at the entrance. We have…… POINT n SHOOT CAMERAS! Anyway, the show started at 8.45pm and the entire performance was fantastic. If you follow P. Ramlee’s career carefully, you’d be able to recognize some of the songs that he performed and the choreography of the dances and prop movements was amazing!

The 1st part of the musical basically talks about the life of P. Ramlee before he join Shaw Brothers and the 2nd part of the musical talks about his life after joining Shaw Bros. until the end of his illustrious career. I was told to shut-up too at various point of the show with reminders that I’m not P. Ramlee so I should try not to sing his songs and ruin them. LOL.

The entire performance ended at 12am but you can definitely tell that no one is complaining. Well, for me, my only complain is about this 2 idiots that kept walking in and out of the theater past us that irritates the hell out of me. One was a girl that i think have small bladder cause she practically move in and out of the place every 15minutes… Like WTF! I wanted to ask the officers there to stop her from entering and disturbing us enjoying our show. The other was this other guy that walks in and out of the place as well getting his friends into the place. I mean like.. The show starts at 8.30pm.. not 9.30pm and you think you’re some VIP that can just stroll in and take your own time finding your seat and blocking everyone’s view?

P. Ramlee lookalike?

Anyway, if you’re into musicals, this is definitely one show you MUST go watch. Just like Puteri Gunung Ledang and the first season of P. Ramlee The Musical. This show stars people like Starring: Liza Hanim as Saloma, Melissa Saila as Norizan, Atilia Haron as Junaidah, Emelda Rosmila as Azizah and introducing Musly Ramlee as P Ramlee. There’s also Colin Kirton and Douglas Lim as The Shaw Brothers, Joseph Gonzales as B.S. Rajhans, Infinatez and Azrul “Cham” as The Paparazzi.

You should go watch it! As for some of the PnS photos, you can find them here.

A Very Short & Quick Post.
Thanks the Chedd from P. Ramlee the Musical for the tickets.

Will try to sneak some shots from the show to post up, already been warned that photography outside the theater is not a problem. They’ll be having all their security camera on me when I go in though knowing that I’ll try to grab a shot or two once I’m in. :p

ROKR Presents Music You Night

Was talking to Dennis Lau the Violinist about this event for the past week as he was asking me if I’m going. Told him that my priority was the Marie Digby show @ 1u and if I’m done early, then I’ll come over.

Well, by the time I was done at 1U, it was already 10pm and with Yennie calling me up and asking if I’m going over, I decide to just pop on by to say hi and see what’s going on.

After all, The Curve is on my way home. No harm just dropping by even if it’s awhile right? Apart from Dennis and Yennie, also bumped into Diana, the woman you should know if you want to break into the entertainment industry as an actor/model/singer.

One of the act that I manage to catch was Estranged as they performed about 3 songs to end the night. As for me, had a couple of beers before I end it a night. Took some photos and you can find them here.

The Outer Rim Concert @ RUUMS

(l-r: Nobuaki, Hakuei, ME!, Jeff, Norihiko)

With Ellice from Russ Consulting, I head over to the Life Center in KL at peak after office hour to catch the band The Outer Rim. A Fusion-Jazz band from Japan comprising four outstandingly talented musicians. These guys g ot together around 2006 (some of their earlier work can be heard in Metal Gear Solid 3), comprising Norihiko Hibino on Saxophone, Hakuei Kim on Piano, Jeff Curry on Bass and Nobuaki Fujii on drums. These guy’s performance was awesome!

Mia Palencia

The other highlight of the night was the two guest artistes that was specially invited for this event. The opening act was performed by Mia Palencia. Great performance by her to kick off the night before The Outer Rim takes the stage.

Ning Baizura

After the 2nd set by the band, Ning Baizura was then led on stage to perform a few songs. The funny part of this was when the announcer called out her name and her pianist came out. The crowd just silent for a few second stunted before breaking out with laughter when she finally stepped out.

Great performances by all 3 acts, and all this was done for a worthy cause to raise funds for the Life College. You can view the photos I took here.
