Over the weekend, I’ve busied myself with some drifting action at the Achilles Formula Drift Malaysia 2012. And here I get to share some of the results as well as photos with fans of drifting or to the Japanese racers, Dorifto ….

Prior to the race, I got to sit down with Manabu ‘Max’ Orido and Daigo Saito to talk to them about the race and what fans can expect and both of them relish going against each other again on our Malaysian circuit to see who truly can reign dominant here. The pressure’s on Daigo as he was the defending champion from the previous season that was held at Dataran Merdeka. (more…)

Post Show: Russell Peters Notorious 2012 World Tour – Malaysia Edition

Just got back from the Russell Peters Notorious World Tour 2012′s 1st show (which in actual fact is the 2nd show but happened on a day before the actual 1st show was supposed to be held.). All I can say is, Russell Peters was fantastic and he totally killed it! All new jokes this time around so don’t expect the “BE A MAN!” unless he decides to pull one off on the Saturday show.

Together with AshleyEv3, we reached the venue at 7.30pm even though we left Subang (which is just around the corner) an hour earlier. Waited a while more for Linora and date to arrive. Managed to bump into the lovely couple, Nigel and Kel Li and caught up with the latest happening that they are involved in and also the opportunities to explore further in some upcoming projects. Who want to see me acting in more shows? (more…)

MC Jin In My Dream Live in KL 欧阳靖 演唱会 – Behind The Scene Photos

MC Jin on Friday (May 4th) held his In My Dream concert and Mike Yip Studio had the honor of working closely with his team in covering his concert here in Malaysia. From the moment he got in to do his soundcheck until the time he left, we got it all down. The official photos will be published eventually, I can’t put them up first until his team got it up on their own website. Wouldn’t be fair for me to be sharing images that is supposed to go on their website first right?

Basically, here’s what went on throughout the night. From the time we reach the venue, my team and I made a quick survey of the area and walk through every inch of KL Live, from the back of the stage all the way to the front and the top level so that when I assigned the team to move, whether it’s for video or for photography, we know where is where and how to get there the fastest without interrupting the flow of the show and the crowd’s view. Premier of the Soundform Fluid Bar by GLENMORANGIE & The Soundform Party @ Vertigo Club

The pursuit of perfection led me to Gardens at Midvalley one fine evening as the resonating perfection as such is the SOUNDFORM Fluid – a stunning, sculptural bar that brings to life the ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ philosophy advocated by Glenmorangie was introduced to the general public that patronizes The Gardens. The SOUNDFORM Fluid bar was designed by renowned architect and interior designer Philip Michael Wolfson for Glenmorangie, and it was inspired by the sonograph reading of the sound of Glenmorangie whisky being poured into a crystal glass.

Statuesquely taking the centre stage at the North Atrium of The Gardens Mall, the SOUNDFORM Fluid is an evocative sight. Its bold jagged edges are covered in a black aluminium finish on the exterior, while the golden orange interior, which mimics the colour of Glenmorangie, is lit up to create an aesthetic, visual counter balance. Complementing the stunning display was commentary by Glenmorangie Malaysia’s Brand Manager, Michael Tan, who explained the concept that sparked the creation of the ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ SOUNDFORM Fluid bar. Energizer Night Race 2012 @ Sepang F1 Circuit

Over the weekend (Saturday Night to be exact), I took part in the Energizer Night Race 2012 held at the Sepang International Circuit, representing a celebration of Energizer’s new global campaign, the enthusiasm of the running community, and a groundbreaking partnership with Kiwanis Malaysia.

The 3rd year of the event seem to be way much better than the farce that happened last year with a better definition of where we get what and so forth. There’s no rush, no clueless runners not knowing where to go (except for those who doesn’t seem to know how to read simple English, I had one coming up to me asking me where’s the collection station for the headlights while she was standing there looking straight at it). The race, which is in its third consecutive year, saw the runners racing on the same track used by local and international motorsports stars while wearing unique Energizer LED headlights, transforming the Sepang International Circuit into a breathtaking “river of light” for participants and spectators alike.
