These Children taught me the true meaning of Never Give Up
About 2 weekends back, I had the chance to observe and interact with a group of children with intellectual disabilities. These children were basically born with Down’s syndrome but to me, these kids truly are quite special. Yes, unlike normal children, they take a longer time to comprehend things, even things as simple as opening the door. But having worked with some before during my college days and now with this group. I know that just like every other child out there, they try their very best to do everything that was given to them.

In this case, it’s swimming. You must be thinking, “Why the heck are you, a guy who can’t swim is doing working with a bunch of kids at the pool?”. Well, the one that’s doing all the swimming are these kids, I’m there to observe, encourage and help motivate them. Simple right? (more…)
Bonfire Festival 2009
It was a night when a bunch of people who enjoy playing with fire came together to perform for the public. A Free event where their only means to keep themselves funded is by generous donation from the Audience.

Performers like Dai Zaobab (Japan), Fengshui (Singapore), G (England), Sean & Prisna (USA), Sari Sharina (Singapore) and Starlight Alchemy (Singapore) showed off what they could do and well, here’s what I captured from the night. There’ll more images after the jump so be prepared. (more…)

Following suit from the Nuffnang Awards, the Bloggers from outside of Singapore was given a tour of the island city to the various parts to soak in the cultural and technological extravaganza. Following are photos from the tour.

Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards Official Photos
The weekend was abuzz with activities as bloggers from Malaysia, Australia and the Philippines gathered in Singapore with the Singaporean bloggers for the biggest blog award ceremony the Asia Pacific region has ever witnessed.

Triathlon
My England so powderful that I won’t be bothered to write anything in here regarding the event I covered. Here’s a brief explanation about what Triathlon is all about for your enjoyment with good england from Wikipedia. :p

A triathlon is a multi-sport endurance event consisting of swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over various distances. Triathletes compete for fastest overall course completion time, including timed “transitions” between the individual swim, bike, and run components. (more…)
The Sultan of Selangor Cup: Singapore vs Selangor
If you’ve been following local football since the good old days when Singapore was still part of the M League and Malaysia Cup series, you’d know how strong the rivalry between Singapore and Selangor is. Each game held at the various stadiums are constantly packed with people.

These days, the only time we see these two teams battle it out is in the Sultan of Selangor Cup games held once a year between the two clubs. 2008 see the Cup going back to Selangor and this year, the Singapore team was quite dominant and the cup goes to Singapore. For Selangor fans, we see it as allowing the Singapore team the thrill of holding it for a year before we take it back. :p (more…)
Red Bull F1 Party @ Sentosa Island
I’ve been bugged to post up photos from this event for quite some time now and since I have some time at the moment, why not post it up and make everyone happy right? It’s the Red Bull F1 Party at Sentosa Island and I’ll just let the photos do all the talking here.
President Star Charity 2009 and Coco Lee
Had an opportunity to work with the Mediacorp artistes at the just concluded President Star Charity 2009 event that was broadcasted Live on TV. Not sure how many of you caught the show, ain’t familiar with it myself as I’m not familiar with local TV scene. Nevertheless, the experience was fantastic.

The journey started yesterday when I stepped into the studio for the first time for rehearsal and briefing which lasted way way way into the night. (more…)
Up-Close and racing with Sébastien Buemi
Previously, I posted photos of Jaime Alguersuari of Scuderia Toro Rosso, this post is about his team mate, Sébastien Buemi. Also taken at the same location, Sébastien carries himself in a more confident manner throughout the day, even at the Red Bull party (that’ll be another story for another post). So without much needed introduction, here’s some photos taken from that day.
Up-Close and Racing with Jaime Alguersuari
He might not be in the fight for the top spots in Formula 1, but nevertheless, he is one of the 20 that’s lucky enough to race competitively in the Formula 1 race.

Jaime Alguersuari took some time off his busy schedule to meet with Scuderia Toro Rosso fans prior to the Singapore GP and race around a few laps at the Go-Kart circuit to give a teaser to the fans what to expect at the Singapore Night Race 2009. (more…)
Mercedes McLaren F1 Drivers
The whole week, the whole of Singapore was abuzz with F1 activities from the driver meet the fans session to media interviews. One of the team that was busy going all over town attending such functions was the McLaren F1 team. I’m no McLaren fan but who would reject opportunities to meet these drivers face to face right?

The McLaren trip started with Heikki Kovalainen at the Changi Airport for the Johnny Walker function where he met the fans, tell them don’t drink and drive, show everyone how he drives on the racing Simulation before he got ushered off in a hurry by his minders. (more…)
Meeting Nico Rosberg prior to the Singapore GP 2009
It was an interview session that is different from the usual boring interviews. Nico Rosberg was quite relax and was enjoying himself throughout the interview session. Imagine this, we started off the interview in 1 location and end up in 2 other location.

Managed to get @StrippedSteph into the 3rd location and get a photo taken with him. Her reaction? “Who’s he?” (more…)
1 Week to Singapore GP
It’s 1 week to the Formula 1 Race in Singapore. Not sure about you but I’m excited about it. Having been to the one in Sepang, I’d love to experience the race in another country, in this case, it’s Singapore!

I’ve been working like a dawg lately as there’s bills to pay and all that mumbo jumbo but at the moment, I am enjoying what I do. I guess that’s the only way to enjoy work, by doing what we like to do so we don’t complain so much. Right? (more…)
36th Taekwondo National Championship 2009
The following series of photos are shot at the recently concluded TKD National Championship. It’s been awhile since I last went for a competition and it felt great being in an arena packed with young TKD exponents battling it out with one another.

Bring back good ol memories of how crazy it was in college when every free time the few of us have was spend at the Squash court where it was quiet and deserted except for the few love birds hiding in the dark corners making out. Those of you who studied there would definitely know which college i’m talking about. (more…)
Midnight Rugby 10s
Recently, I attended this unique Rugby match that was played from sun down til, well, very late. The name of the event’s known as the Rugby Midnight 10s where as you guess it, teams play rugby at midnight.

It was an interesting concept and was told that this is the 2nd year it was held. The Winning purse is USD11,000 which is ALOT when you convert back to Ringgit Malaysia or Singapore Dollars. Right? As usual, I won’t drown you with loads of text but with loads of photos from the event. (more…)
Perseids Meteor
2am, despite the slight drizzle in my area, I decide to venture out to some other parts of KL in hope to capture the Perseids Meteor. This image was captured around 3am just when I was giving up, stacked 5 exposures together on the camera, trigger by remote with mirror lock-up to minimize any shakes. It’s not exactly like what we see anywhere else but heck, it’s not often that I get to capture a faint image of the meteor shower right?

I actually duplicate the images on top of each other via photoshop in the hope to brighten the showers up so we can actually see it here but I think my attempt at it just make it look fake. Anyhow, this is the only one of two I manage to capture with a faint hint of a meteor shower. The other one looks pathetically like this. (more…)
Manchester United vs Malaysia – Photos from Field Level
The stadium wasn’t as packed as the Saturday game, must say that the Malaysian team wasn’t playing as well as the first game either. Here are some of my thoughts along with loads of photos.

The Starting 11
The defensive players held on tight to their positioning and did well even though 2 goals were scored against them. Can’t really compare much between a team that’s been playing together for an entire season and a team assembled 12 days prior to the game right? (more…)
Singapore River Fesitval & Nuffnang SG Pajamas Party
This is a photo heavy post…. wait… all my post have loads of photos… oh well… Went with the Nuffnang Singapore Bloggers and the Nuffies on a tour of the Singapore River Festival when I was at Singapore. Quite an interesting adventure walking from Clark Quay to Boat Quay to catch the boat for the boat ride after watching the Aerial Acrobatic performance and the stage play in Clark Quay. It’s quite tiring actually. Here’s some photos from the Singapore River Festival

Cosplayeur @ License 2 Play
When I was with StrippedSteph in Singapore, one of the things I like to do is go around taking photos, like a typical tourist. One the recent trip around town, I headed over to Suntec City with a friend as they were having the License 2 Play convention there. Loads of people, loads of games you can purchase.

HKFDC New Action Initiative
The Kong Kong Film Development Council launched the Hong Kong Film NEW ACTION in December 3rd, 2008. HKFDC then followed it up with a large scale promotion plan to develop the Hong Kong film market in mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore and lastly in Malaysia.

I am glad that I got the chance to be part of this initiative when HKFDC came to Malaysia this week. It’s not often we get to talk to the Hong Kong directors, Producers as well as Industry Veterans all within the same platform. On Thursday, the HKFDC organized a dinner at The Boulevard Hotel to bring together fellow counterparts from the Malaysian Film and Broadcasting industry. A time when peers from both country could sit down and talk over a nice casual dinner. (more…)
Rihanna’s Attacked, Concert Postponed
Rihanna’s concert in Malaysia is postponed. The organizers are planning to find a replacement date within two weeks from now.
According to TMZ, In the meantime, Rihanna has been discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, having been escorted out a back exit of the hospital some time during the night. “They used a decoy to throw off the media,” a source close to the investigation into what went down between Rihanna and Chris Brown early Sunday morning told E! News.
Law enforcement sources have now gotten more specific… police took pictures of Rihanna’s injuries and they are “horrific.” With major contusions on both sides of the singer’s face – there is serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is split and her nose bloody. It was confirmed there are bite marks on one of her arms and on several fingers.
Rihanna claims Brown struck her with his fists and that’s what did the damage. There was no object used in the alleged attack. Rihanna refused treatment at the scene, but before she left cops took photos.
Chris Brown has been booked on a felony criminal threats charge. If the D.A. files the case, domestic violence charges could be added.

Christmas came early thanks to Nuffnang SG
Yup, you see it right. Nuffnang Singapore organized the vPost Nuffnang Christmas party at DXO last night and it was the bomb! With the loudest noise coming from the Malaysian Camp. Yup, we did Malaysia proud, well… I felt that I did. StrippedSteph and I got there by 6, met up with the bunch of Nuffies from Malaysia, catch up on things and then proceed into the venue.

At the Photo Op

Boss Ming, taikor of Nuffnang SG.
Malaysia won the N.U.F.F.N.A.N.G spelling game (where we have to seek out the real Nuffies with the respective alphabets to win) by 3 to 2, it was a close call indeed but WE WON! I believe Malaysia also walked home with the most prizes last night too! (This do sound like I’m trying to create War between Nuffnang Malaysia and Singapore eh?) Even in terms of organized events, Nuffnang Malaysia tops Nuffnang Singapore by 3 events to 1 with the Christmas party being the first one so far. Quoted from Boss Ming “Nuffnang Malaysia might be leading in terms of organized events but Singapore shall not be far and we are looking at over taking that number very soon.” (more…)
Hannah Tan’s Farewell Party @ Somo
Hannah Tan topped off 2008 with a farewell dinner cum party at Somo for all her friends and acquintances. Why the farewell? She’s leaving the motherland and heading to the land of the rising Sun. Yup, come 2009, Hannah Tan will be based in Japan. So sad, especially for all her fans in Malaysia but it’s a great opportunity for Hannah so Good Luck Hannah and make Malaysia Proud. Here’s some photos from the event, as it’s just a small dinner party, there’s really nothing much to talk about. So enjoy the photos.
