Lewis Pragasam @ Groove Junction

Jazz fans, if you weren’t at Groove Junction on the recent Friday and Saturday, you’ve missed a great performance from an excellent band.

Lewis Pragasam, a prominent Malaysian musician played LIVE at Groove Junction with his Asia Beat team and the place was packed with fans who enjoy his unique style of Jazz.

I did not expect to be there in the first place as the initial plan was just to meet up with a few friends at Souled Out Cafe for dinner and just to catch up on things. Well, Lucky me, we decide to move the entourage of 4 to Groove Junction after dinner.

The night has host of musicians turning up on those two nights to perform with Asia Beat but I wasn’t there to listen to all of them. As I was there straight from work, it’s the weariness that takes the toll. Nevertheless, even the short time I was there listening to them perform is fantastic enough to make my day.

Lewis Pragasam also has a new album on sale, if you are a fan of his style of music, check out Urban Beyond. On my end, you can view the pictures I took that night here.

VR Star Models 2008

Yesterday afternoon, was invited to the VR Star Models 2008 Opening Ceremony at Leisure Mall and it’s truly an eye opener for me. Not because this is a first time I attended an event cause I’ve attended numerous before this but it’s the camaraderie and teamwork among fellow photographers that are of a surprise. This is the first time I attend an event where I have to shove and push against other photo journalist to get the best pictures. So, to the guys of ShutterAsia, you guys are great!

As there’s a competition for photography during this event, I decide to try my hands at taking some pictures and submitting them, let’s pray for me to win something out of this. There’s loads of professional photographers there but I feel that some of my pictures are not that bad either. What do you think? Run through my photo album and let me know which one or two would be suitable for me to submit in as an entry. Can you do that? Just click here to view the album. You can let me know by submitting as a comment under this post or at the multiply acc.

I think Amber Chia’s one of the organizer of the event and if you are a listener of 988, DJ Nicholas was there to emcee the whole event as well. Even though the whole thing is short, it’s still fun.

If you’re from the organizers and you are reading this, may I suggest that for the next round, get the girls to hang around longer and poses more, maybe they are inexperienced but they were quite ‘shy’ when asked to pose. Do feel free to comment as well as I’d like to learn where I can improve in terms of my skill. Thank You

Project Phunk @ Laundry

After my meeting last night, I dropped by Laundry to meet up with Christien & Lavin and was invited to hang around for the One Night with Phunk @ Laundry.

It was a nice event, good music by the performers, Razif was the MC of the night and constantly said the Phunk word. Sigh.

Don’t plan to write much about the whole event, you can read more about Project Phunk here. Last word to the Phunkers, you guys did a great job that night.

Also there, was SmashPop, Stephanie and Thomas Yap, seen here with Christien, Lavin, Razif Hashim and myself.
