Launch of Honda City Tafetta White & Get On The rock! Competition

I was invited by Advertlets to Camp5@1Utama to witness Honda Malaysia launching the 3rd Generation City with an all new Tafetta White, a new color that is set to hit the road from today onward. Following this launch, there are now four colors on the City’s palette in addition to the Alabaster Silver, Polished Metal and Crystal Black Pearl.

Launched by En. Rohime Shafie, the opening gambit was done with a rock climber scaling down the rock wall to lift the curtain up from the new City. David Beckham Pranks Masseuse On ‘Ellen’

David Beckham is known for being relatively mild-mannered, but he unleashed his funny side on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday.

While Ellen DeGeneres has done this kind of prank with Dennis Quaid, she convinced Becks to participate in the shenanigans. The talk-show host hooked up a feed to David’s ear, and told him what to say while meeting with an unsuspecting masseuse.

Prema Yin Blow My Mind @ Hot Magazine’s 6th Birthday Bash

Was testing out the Samsung NX100′s video capability under extreme low light condition at the Hot Magazine’s 6th Birthday bash by recording Prema Yin singing Blow My Mind. I didn’t bother to do a day time video test as there’s quite a lot of video on youtube that has already showcase it’s capability in normal sunny day condition. Anyway, here’s the result straight from the camera without any editing. The whole performance was recorded by handheld (no tripod was used or injured in this video’s production).

The camera’s settings when I shot this video are at the default settings straight out of the box. It’s able to record the performance in full HD (1280 x 720) with reasonable audio quality. The auto focus could lock onto Prema Yin at the start of the performance so I could get a decent sharpness in about 90% of the video except when the singer and crowd moved backwards out of the focusing zone. It also includes a simple function to trim the video according to the in point and out point you want and save it as another file in the camera. Another test will be conducted before I give the final verdict on whether this baby’s video recording capability is on par or even better than it’s peers in this genre of camera system.

Go Fly Kite with Churp Churp

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and I took my monsters with me to Taylor’s Lakeside Campus to literally Fly Kite with Churp Churp. I also took this opportunity to play around with the Samsung NX100 with the Automatic setting. Just to see how it goes in comparison to the more controlled functions that is available on the camera.

Reached the campus at 3pm and I was waiting at the only open space I know at that place which I feel would be the best place to fly kite as it’s wide open space and has a strong steady flow of wind coming from one direction. Then Gabriel point me towards the direction of the main building where I see a bunch of people running around with a kite behind them trying to fly all over the place but up. (more…)
