Salomon XT-Wings

Recently, I received a little package from the World of Sports people. Lo and behold, when I open up the package, this is what stares back at me.

All I can do at that moment was to pick up my jaw that has dropped to the floor looking at this bag of goodies. Then the following question came to me, what are those guys thinking? Trying to make me get back into running or more precise cross country running? (more…)

Are You Being Served?

Are You Being Served? Essentially, how was the customer service at the last place you go to? Be it a restaurant or a boutique?

We’ve heard of many tales about the good and bad customer service in Singapore, personally, I had experience quite a number of good and also bad services at some of the places I patronized. One of the best services I have ever experienced was in a run down restaurant somewhere in Balestier. Despite the place being packed with customers, the staff would still put in an effort to make sure you have a place to seat, get your drinks and meal promptly and not be too pushy. It was a very comfortable meal for me despite the meal not exceeding more than $10.

There’s also a few bad memories of terrible services I’ve experienced, one of them was at Marche’s where I felt like I was being ushered into a goat’s den throughout the whole time. Being a tourist, we tend to take photos of the food we eat and the place we ate at but at this place, I got told off and the restaurant staffs just gave us the stare throughout the whole meal. Whatever happen to the courteous mention when I did it? I would have no problem if the staff come up to me and say it in a nice way that I’m not allowed to take any photos. Right? Rather than be treated like a naughty student that did something wrong in class. (more…)

Check this cute little hat out.

Comes all the way from Denmark and is now being sold on Stripped Closet.

Just brought one for myself from the Stripped Closet Online Boutique. Really cute stuff, it’s not one of those big hats you wear but it’s just a tiny cute one (measuring 3×3 in size) that can be pinned to your hair as part of the hair accessories. (more…)

Buzz About Kitchen Sinks!

I’ve been thinking… about renovation to the kitchen area. The current sink that’s in the home isn’t doing too well, constantly clog up, leaks around the washer and under heavy load, it felt like it’ll give way at any moment without notice.

Well, like all planning, we need to do some research online before moving forward with our plans right? Through my search, I came across this site by MR Direct Incorporated that sells undermount sink that comes in Stainless Steel or granite.

Looking at the price, it’s quite affordable too, $94 for the 3121L Undermount Offset Stainless Steel Sink. It look really great, as it provides a bigger bowl for the washing of dishes and the smaller bowl that I could use to soak vegetables before cooking. The current one I have has two of the similar sized bowls which when used for soaking vegetables or table clothes, waste a lot of water, something I don’t want to do. The other interesting thing about this sink is it’s undermounted, what it means is that the sink is mounted under a counter as opposed to being “dropped in”, this is so you won’t get the edge of the sink popping out of the counter top. This undermounted thing would surely come in handy, since I love to chop stuff on the counter top and I can just easily sweep all the crumbs into the sink instead of sweeping outwards and have some falling onto the floor. MOVIE REVIEW: Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist

Just got back from the premier movie screening of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist  organized by Nuffnang Singapore. The screening was held at The Cathay and as it was a last minute decision, we basically rushed to the cinema to catch the movie with the rest of the Nuffnang Bloggers.

Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, originally a book by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, is now a movie. Nick (Michael Cera), the only straight band member of “The Jerk Offs” has recently been dumped by his hot girlfriend, Tris (Alexis Dziena). Nick believes that he can win her back by sending her special songs on CDs that he has mixed just for her. Nick has sent her about 10 CDs, but Tris only throws them in the trash.

However, Tris’ best friend, Norah (Kat Dennings), has retrieved most of them, and she loves them. Norah has never met Nick, but the music he loves touches her heart. Norah and her friend Caroline are at a nightclub where “The Jerk Offs” are playing, and Norah is attracted to Nick while he is playing his guitar. Tris shows up at the same club with her new boyfriend. Norah doesn’t want Tris to think that she is dateless, so she asks Nick to pretend to be her boyfriend for 5 minutes and gives him a big kiss. Then Tris tells Norah that Nick is her ex-boyfriend. Now that Norah has Nick, the heartless Tris decides that she now wants him back.

A night of searching for the band “Where’s Fluffy” ends up with one of these girls winning Nick’s love. (more…)

GoMobile GoMobile Go

007

Check out this special screening by Nuffnang and GoMobile, The Ultimate Mobile Lifestyle Event of the Year. Here’s the detail you should know.

Go Mobile

It’s been awhile since I’ve been waiting for this installment of the 007 franchise, the 2nd with Daniel Craig taking the role of James Bond. Sometimes, do get jealous about James Bond too cause he get all those cool suits and all those hot babes.

I do hope I get the tickets to go catch this excellent movie. And hopefully, I could say Thanks to GoMobile for this movie.

I’m Going Silent this Halloween with Nokia XpressMusic

October, one of the most looked forward to event of the month is none other than the Halloween Night! This year, Nuffnang’s going to rock the house down, by going silent, yup. As silent as thing could get on that night, except that in Nuffnang’s case, Silent means nothing when you get a bunch of bloggers together. All hell will break loose! Now that’ll really make Halloween a beautiful day to remember!

Now the catch for this party is, you’d have to bring along your phone and headsets as the whole idea of being ’silent’ is by getting you pumped for the party via your headphones. huh??? Must be some crazy idea by Nokia to get people to tune in to their services. My guess? Via the Bluetooth on the phone? By Nokia giving every single one of the party goers a Nokia phone each (please say it is true so I can throw away my brick phone)? It’ll even be better if Nokia could give me a new phone on that night as a present so I could give it to my mom as her birthday present too! After all, her birthday falls on the 31st of October! Really it’s true!!! Coupled by the fact that I’m a cheapskate of a son (Such a scary thought isn’t it to have me as a son). (more…)
