Bird Park with the Monsters

After the disappointing outing at the Zoo, decided to bring the kids to a nicer place which I would think that they’d like. So it was off to the KL Bird Park we went on Saturday. With @Jessbabe tagging along for the adventure.

It was cute to see her walking with the two monsters and you have all those guys sitting by the cafe checking her out like she’s some young hot mama going to the bird park with her kids. LMAO. The afternoon was just nice as it stopped raining just as we went for lunch and by the time we reach the Bird Park, the sun was up, clear blue sky and it wasn’t too hot.

As this was my 2nd trip to the bird park, didn’t really spend the afternoon snapping photos of birds in the area but more to have a nice slow stroll with the kids looking at the various birds that’s around whether caged or free running/flying. We managed to catch the 2.30pm Eagle feeding time but I’d say that even though the kids enjoyed watching those eagles flying through the cage snatching dead chicks that is toss in their flight path. I find it not that exciting.

Having walked in circles at zone 1 and 2, we stopped by the ice cream stall for some refreshments. Ice Creams for 3 and a 100Plus for myself. Somehow, some of the birds in the area was so used to be fed by visitors to the park that when they see food, they’d just hang around, sometimes, even move close enough for us to pat them, with the aim to grab at the food that the kids was eating. I feel that it’s quite a dangerous thing to do as these birds no longer have fear of human and there might come moments where because of the food that is held by a child or even an adult, they might just attack for the sake of getting a piece of the ‘meal’.

The next stop was the little pond area near the flamingo pond where the kids get to feed some fishes within an enclosed area. Quite a nice place to just relax while the kids goes about feeding the fishes. Even though it’s a cage under the sun, it wasn’t really that hot within the area as the waterfall and the birds flying around sort of provide some nice cooling area.

By 3.30pm, we made our way to the Amphitheater to catch some Bird Show, a parrot teaching visitors how to count and how to throw rubbish into the bin as well as two hawks flying up and down the Amphitheater snatching snacks off their trainer’s hands and off some sticks of a few kids.

By the time the show ends, the kids energy level have already depleted to the point that if they have a crystal on their chest ala Ultraman, it would be beeping away telling us that the energy level only can last another 5minutes, well… if only it’s that easy, they basically lost all interest of the animals around them but just want to get to the car fast so they could rest. By then, we were also looking for a place with some air-conditioning to cool our body and left the place. Total damage for 2 adults and 2 kids was RM60.
