Bavarian Bierhaus @ The Curve

Do you realize that there’s quite a number of German restaurants & Bars sprouting up within the Klang Valley over the years? One of the earlier ones I’ve known is the Bavarian Bierhaus located at The Curve, just behind TGIF and a stone throw away from Modesto’s. Have to name these two restaurants to give most people an idea where the restaurant is. The place is quite spacious with the Bar smack right in near the entrance for those who wish to smoke and sit by the bar.

Anyway, I was there with my family and after we got our seats and place our orders, we wait gleefully for the first dish to arrive, it was none other than the Pork Belly, beautiful Oven Roasted Crispy Pork Belly Served with hickory smoked BBQ gravy, red cabbage and pan friend potato. The skin was super crispy, just the way I love my pork and the fat just melts in my mouth so it was a heavenly start to our dinner.

The next dish that arrived on our table is the Sausages Platter/Wustplatte, an authentic sausage platter with german farmer sausage hungarian sausage. thueringer sausage, nuernberger sausage, weisswurst, ementhaler cheese sausage and smoked garlic sausage served with sauerkraut, potato salad, garlic mayo sauce, habanero mayo sauce and German mustard. Each cooked to perfection and easy to the bite. I tried all of them but refrained myself from wolfing them down as I was saving my stomach for the next dish.

The star of the night, the one I saved my stomach for is none other than the Pork Knuckle & Pork Ribs Combo, look at the Roasted Pork Knuckle & BBQ Pork Ribs served with sauerkraut and panfried potatoes. Who could resist it? I know I couldn’t and I have to admit that I end up whacking the most portion of this pork. Can’t help it cause I just love my pork.

One thing I am trying to teach my two monsters is to eat some greens along with their meat. To balance out the meal, you know what I mean? So we also ordered the Schinken Salat, a Mixed Garden greens with streaky bacon, semi-dried tomatoes, pickled onions and mustard vinaigrette. They get the greens, I get the streaky bacons. It’s a good deal. Right? My kids wasn’t happy but I’m not to complain, got the best of the deal.

The dishes is a bit pricey but would balance out if you go in a group of 4 and more. I guess most German restaurants and bar are like that as this is not the only restaurant that burns a hole in a foodie’s pocket if eaten alone. But then, no one is mad enough to order so many dishes just for self consumption. For a couple, the Plate of Pork Knuckle combo is more than enough to fill both stomachs and still have some to spare for take aways. Definitely a nice place to hang out in if you wish to go all German and go pork frenzy with your group of friends.
