Apple & Job launched the iPad
After all the hype and the suspense leading up to yesterday night (Malaysia time), Apple finally launched their very own Tablet PC. Aptly named the iPad, it’s what most netizens would call an enlarged version of the iPod Touch/iPhone.

For people like myself who spend a lot of time online using their iPhone, this would be a tempting new ‘toy’ to play with. After all, it comes with a bigger screen meaning you can read/view things without constantly scrolling left and right to read texts on websites. The iPad will also be giving Amazon’s Kindle DX a run for it’s money as the iPad is able to give readers the chance to view materials in full color compared to the Kindle’s non-color, limited function device. The 16GB model is only USD$10 more than the USD$489 kindle too!

Price range, the 16GB Wi-Fi model is being retailed on apple’s website at USD$499, the 32GB version is sold at USD$599 and the 64GB model at $699. I wonder if demo units will be released at the retail stores for people to try before the shipping date. It’ll be interesting to see how the Up-Sized iPod Touch works.
If you’re not a big fan of the iPad, you can get over to twitter and join @iPadSucks in his rant about the iPad. Jokes about the iPad already started surfacing as soon as the name was announced with the #iTampon leading the charge on the Twitter Hastag Trend.
Before you start rushing off online to place in your order (if you’re a huge fan of anything Apple), you’ll still have to wait as the Wi-Fi model will only be available in late March and the 3G model will start shipping in April.
